SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO RENEW THE CONTRACT WITH
ARCADIA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR TRANSPORTATION FOR
RECREATION ACTIVITIES FROM JULY 1, 2011 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2012.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve
SUMMARY
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to renew the agreement
with Arcadia Unified School District to provide transportation for recreation activities from July 1,
2011 through June 30, 2012.
BACKGROUND
The Recreation and Community Services Department has been using transportation services
provided by the Arcadia Unified School District for the transporting of participants registered in
summer camps, excursions and intramural sports. The current agreement with Arcadia Unified
School District was executed on July 1, 2010. As set forth in the terms of this agreement, the
contract may be renewed for a maximum of three years. Upon renewal of this contract, it was
the sole bid received for transportation services.
FISCAL IMPACT
The budget for transportation services for the fiscal year 2011 -2012 is $35,000. The proposed
budget is sufficient to cover the transportation costs for the programs, based on the bid provided
by Arcadia Unified School District.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the City Manager to renew the contract with Arcadia Unified School District for
transportation services for recreation activities for the period of July 1, 2011 through June 30,
2012, in the amount not to exceed $35,000.
