ORDINANCE NO. 1304
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY
OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY DESCRIBED IN
RESOLUTION NO. 3805 ADOPTED BY SAID
CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 20, 1965 AND
DESIGNATED THEREIN AS "ANNEXATION
NO. 38, WEST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED)".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
did on its own motion on July 20, 1965, adopt Resolution No. 3805
entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARiNG
CONCERNING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE OF SUCH PUBLIC
HEARING CONCERNING THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA OF
CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS
OF SAID CITY, SAID TERRITORY BEING SITUATED NEAR THE SOUTHEASTERLY
PORTION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND DESIGNATED AS 'ANNEXATION NO. 38,
WEST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED)',"which resolution recited that the proceed-
ings for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described were
initiated on the said Council's own motion, and stated the reasons
for which the said Council desires to annex said territory, and which
resolution further specifically described the boundaries of the terri-
tory sought to be included in said City, and fixed Tuesday, September 7,
1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall of said City, as the day, hour and place when and where the
City Council would hear protests made by any person owning real prop-
erty in such territory proposed to be annexed.

SECTION 2. That at a regular meeting of said City Council
held on the 7th day of September, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock
P.M. in the Counc:il Chamber of said City Council in the Arcadia City
Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, said City Council did find
and determine that the publication of Resolution No. 3805 had been
made at the time and in the manner required by Section 35311 of the
Government Code of the State of California. That the annexation of
said territory is not prohibited either by Section 35002.5 or by
Section 35236 of the said Government Code. That the territory pro-
posed to be annexed as described by said Resolution No. 3805 was and
is uninhabited and is contiguous to the City of Arcadia. That written
protest was not made either by private owners of one-half of the value
of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed or by public

owners of one-half of the publicly owned territory proposed to be
annexed.
SECTION 3. That under and pursuant to and in accordance with
the provisions of an act of the legislature of the State of California
entitled "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", the annex-
ation to the City of Arcadia of that certain uninhabited territory
contiguous to said City as described in Resolution No. 3805, adopted
by said City Council of said City on July 20, 1965, and therein desig-
nated as "Annexation No. 38, West Arcadia (Uninhabited)", be and the
same is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved. That a specific
description of the boundaries of said territory, as submitted to and
favorably reported upon by the Boundary Commission of Los Angeles
County pursuant t.o Section 35002 of the California Government Code, is
as follows:

"ANNEXATION NO. 38, WEST ARCADIA UNINHABITED"
TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA
Beginning at an angle point in the boundary of the City
of Arcadia, as it existed on December 24, 1964, said angle
point being the intersection of the westerly prolongation of
the northerly line of Lot 6, Block A, Santa Anita Land Com-
pany's Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 6, Page 137
of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
said northerly line now being the center line of Naomi Avenue,
50 feet wide, and the center line of Golden West Avenue, 60
feet wide, as shown on map of said tract; thence southerly
118 feet along the center line of said Golden West Avenue to
the true point of beginning; thence continuing along same
center line, 212 feet; thence easterly 245 feet parallel with
the northerly line of said Lot 6; thence northerly 102.5 feet
parallel with the easterly line of said Lot 6; thence westerly
89 feet parallel with the northerly line of said Lot 6; thence
northerly 102.5 feet parallel with the easterly line of said
Lot 6; thence westerly 50 feet parallel with the northerly line
of said Lot 6; thence northerly 7 feet parallel with the
easterly line of said Lot 6; thence westerly 106 feet parallel
with the northerly line of said Lot 6 to the true point of be-
ginning.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and within fifteen (15) days after the date of
adoption hereof shall cause a copy hereof to be published once in
the Arcadia Tribune, and the City Clerk shall upon the taking effect
of this Ordinance, make and certify under the seal of the City of
Arcadia and transmit to the Secretary of State of the State of
California a copy of this Ordinance giving the date of its passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held
on the 21st day of

of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
