ORDINANCE NO. 1305
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF
THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF DUARTE ROAD
WESTERLY FROM SECOND AVENUE IN SAID
CITY,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA~PA~IFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION L That Resolution No, 3812 entitled "A RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF
DUARTE ROAD WESTERLY FROM SECOND AVENUE, AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE
FOR THE HEARING OF OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION AND ABANDONMENT",

was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Arcadia on August 17, 1965; that said Resolution, among other things,
fixed the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. on the 7th day of September, 1965,
in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington
Drive, Arcadia, California, as the time and place for hearing all per-
sons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation as therein
outlined; that a copy thereof was duly and regularly published in the
Arcadia Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation published and cir-
culated in said City, as required by the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California, and that the property hereinafter described
and proposed to be vacated was duly and regularly posted as required
by the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; that the
affidavits of said publication and of said posting were duly filed with
and are now on file with the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia; that
on the 7th day of September, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.,

in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington
Drive, Arcadia, California, the City Council of the City of Arcadia
did accept and reeeive all testimony offered in support of or in ob-
jection to the said proposed vacation; that thereupon the said City
Council found from evidence submitted that the property hereinbefore
used for street and alley purposes, and hereinafter particularly described
is unnecessary for present or prospective street and alley purposes, and
that the public welfare, convenience, necessity and safety require and
will be better served by the vacation thereof as a public street and
as an alley in said City.
SECTION 2. That the City of Arcadia does therefore hereby
order the vacation and abandonment of that property, heretofore a part
of the First Alley South of Duarte Road westerly from Second Avenue, in
the City of Arcad:ia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, speci-
fically described as follows:
The northerly 20 feet of the southerly 346 feet of
the easterly 76 feet of Lot 15 of Tract No. 808, per
map recorded in Book 16, page 82, of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County;
The northerly 20 feet of the southerly 272 feet of
those portions of Lots 13 and 14 of Tract No. 808,
as shown on map recorded in Book 16, pages 82 and
83, of Maps, Records of said County, described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of said
Lot 13, 117,5 feet easterly from the northwest corner
of said Lot; thence easterly along the northerly lines
of said Lots 13 and 14, 112 feet; thence southerly to
a point in the south line of Lot 14 distant 6 feet
easterly from the southwest corner thereof; thence
westerly along the southerly lines of said Lots 14
and 13, 110.96 feet; thence northerly in a direct line
to the point of beginning;
and
The northerly 20 feet of the southerly 272 feet of
the westerly 107.23 feet of the easterly 214.46 feet
of Lot 14, Tract 808, per map recorded in Book 16,
page 82, of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, for
the first alley south of Duarte Road between First
and Second Avenues.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and upon the same taking effect shall cause a
certified copy hereof to be recorded in the office of the County Re-
corder of Los Angeles County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
a t a regular meet:ing of the City Council of the Ci ty of Arcadia held
on the 21st
