ORDINANCE NO. 1330
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF
DUARTE ROAD IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 3913 entitled itA RESOLU-
TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DE-
CLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF DUARTE
ROAD AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF OBJECTIONS
TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION AND ABANDONMENT", was duly and regUlarly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Arcadia on November 2,
1966; that said Resolution, among other things fixed the hour or
8:00 o'clock p.m. on the 6th day of December, 1966, in the Council
Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia,
California, as the time and place for hearing all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation as therein outlined; that
a copy thereof was duly and regularly published in the Arcadia Tri-
bune, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated
in said City, as required by the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, and that the property hereinafter described
and proposed to be vacated was duly and regularly posted as required
by the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; that
the affidavits of said publication and of said posting were duly
filed with and are now on file with the City Clerk of the City of
Arcadia; that on the 6th day of December, 1966, at the hour of
8:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall,
240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, the City Council
of the City of Arcadia did accept and receive all testimony offered

in support of or in objection to the said proposed vacation; that

thereupon the said City.Council found from evidence submitted that
the property hereinbefore used for street purposes, and hereinafter
particularly described is unnecessary for present or prospective
street purposes, and that the public welfare, convenience, necessity
and safety requ.l..re and will be better served by the vacation thereof
as a public street in said City.
SECTION 2. That the City of Arcadia does therefore hereby
order the vacat.l..on and abandonment of that property, heretofore a
part of Duarte Road, in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, specifically described as follows:
A portion of Lot 1, in Block "C" of Santa Anita
Land Company's Tract, in the City of Arcadia,
Count~r of .Los Angeles, State. of California, as per
map recorded in Book 6, Page 137 of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County des-
cribed as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of said Lot 1;
thence westerly along the northerly line ,of said
lot to a point that is distant 12 ft. measured
at right angles from the easterly line of said
lot; thence southerly 35 ft. along a line parallel
with "aid easterly line to the true point of begin-
ning; thence northerly 7.89 feet along last men-
tioned parallel line to the beginning of a tangent
curve concave southwesterly and having a radius of
15 feet, said curve also being tangent at its
northerly terminus to a line parallel with and
distant southerly I? feet, measured at right
angles from the northerly line of said Lot 1;
thence northerly and westerly along said curve
to said parallel line; thence westerly along
said las t mentioned line 94.89 'feet; thence
southerly along the west line of the easterly
122 feet of said lot to a point that is distant
20 feet measured at right angles from the
northerly line of said, lot; thence easterly 95
'feet along a line parallel with the northerly
line of said lot; thence southeasterly 23.95
feet more or less in a direct line to the true
point of beginning.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and upon the same taking effect shall cause a
certified copy hereof to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 20th day of December
, 1966, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:
