HomeMy WebLinkAbout1258 ORDINANCE NO. 1258 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES AND LEVYING TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1964. THE CITY, COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of raising the sums of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property of the City of Arcadia as a revenue to carryon the various departments of said City for the fiscal year beginning JUly 1, 1964, the rate of taxes for the different portions of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed, and,taxes are hereby levied on all taxable property in the different portions of said City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1964, in the number of cents upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of the assessed value of said property as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County~ Los Angeles, for the several funds and purposes set forth in the following table, the taxes levied upon property in each portion of said City hereinafter described and desig- nated by a district number being at the rates set opposite the designa- tions of the respective funds in the column headed by the district num- ber which is prefixed to the description of such portion of said City as hereinafter stated. SECTION 2. District No. 1 shall include and comprise all that portion~ the City of Arcadia included within the boundaries thereof as originally incorporated and all that territory annexed to the City of Arcadia excepting those portions thereof hereinafter included within Districts No. 2 and No.3. District No. 2 shall include and comprise all that territory annexed to the City of Arcadia by the following annexations thereto: Uninhabited Territory Annexation of 1945, pursuant to Ordinance No. 559, adopted September 18, 1945; West Arcadia Annexation, pursuant to Or- dinance No. 641, adopted April 15, 1947; West Arcadia Annexation No.2, -1- 1258 pursuant to Ordinance No. 65l, adopted June 3, 1947; and West Arcadia Annexation No.4, pursuant to Ordinance No. 759, adopted March 15,1949. District No. 3 shall include and comprise all that territory annexed to the City of Arcadia by the following annexations thereto: West Arcadia Annexations No. 5 and No.6, pursuant to Ordinance No. 804, adopted April 4, 1950; Foothill Boulevard Annexation No. l, pur- suant to Ordinance No. 891, adopted May l8, 1954; Southeast Arcadia Uninhabited Annexation No. l5, pursuant to Ordinance No. 972, adopted November 20, 1956; Northeast Arcadia Annexation No. 16, Uninhabited, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1011, adopted April l, 1958; Annexation No. 17-A, Southwest Arcadia Inhabited, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1053, adopted April 7, 1959; Annexation No. 19, South Arcadia Uninhabited (Revised), pursuant to Ordinance No. l068, adopted November 3, 1959; Annexation No. 20, Southeast Arcadia (Uninhabited), pursuant to Or- dinance No. llll, adopted December 6, 1960; Annexation No. 22, South Arcadia (Uninhabited) pursuant to Ordinance No. 1ll7, adopted Febru- ary 7, 1961; Annexation No. 25, East Arcadia (Uninhabited) pursuant to Ordinance No. 1138 adopted October 3, 1961; Annexation No. 26, West Arcadia (Uninhabited) pursuant to Ordinance No. 1151, adopted November 0 1961; Annexation No. 28, Southeast Arca~a Uninhabited, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1154, adopted January 16, 1962; Annexation No. 30, South- east Arcadia Uninhabited, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1194, adopted January 15, 1963; and Annexation No. 31, Southeast Arcadia (Uninhabited), pursuant to Ordinance No. 1230 adopted December l7, 1963. Also all that territory included within the boundaries of the City of Arcadia by the relocation of the City boundaries pursuant to Section 50190 et seq. of the California Government Code, pursuant to Resolution 3646 of the Arcadia City Council adopted February 4, 1964 and Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles dated February 25, 1964, which territory was solely for reference purposes designated. as Annexation No. 32 Southeast Arcadia Uninhabited. -2- 1258 SECTION 3. For the purpose of raising the sums of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the real property within the respective districts hereinafter described to pay for the items of maintenance and operation furnished the street lighting systems therein, the rates of taxes for the respective portions and dis- tricts of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied on all real property in the respective districts in portions of said City for the fiscal year beginning July l, 1964, in the number of cents upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed - value of said real property as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles. The respective lighting maintenance districts are described as follows: Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 15, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. l5, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3343, adopted by the City Coun- cil of the City of Arcadia on January 17, 1961, and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3330 of said City Council adopted December 20, 1960, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 15, together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 15, having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 16, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 16, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3344, adopted by the City Coun- cil of the City of Arcadia on January 17, 1961, and described in the -3- 1258 map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3331 of said City Council adopted December 20, 1960, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. l6, together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 16, having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. l7, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. l7, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3452, adopted by the City Coun- cil of the City of Arcadia on January 16, 1962 and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore ap- proved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3446 of said City Council adopted December 19, 1961, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No: l7, together with a legal description of the real property included within said -' . Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. l7, having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 19, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 19, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3549 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted January 15, 1963 and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3544 adopted Decem- ber 18, 1962, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance Dis- trict No. 19 together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 19 -4- 1258 having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the state Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 20, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 20, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3625 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted November 5, 1963, and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3617 adopted September 17, 1963, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 20 together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 20 having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 21, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 2l, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3638 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted January 2l, 1964 and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3630 adopted Decem- ber 17, 1963, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance Dis- trict No. 21 together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 21 having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 22, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 22, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3639 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted January 21, 1964 and described in the map on file -5- 1258 in the office of the, City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3632 adopted Decem- ber l7, 1963, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance Dis- trict No. 22 together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 22 having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 23, which in- , cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 23, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3640 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted January 21, 1964 and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3634 adopted Decem- ber l7, 1963, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance Dis- trict No. 23 together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 23 having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. SECTION 4. For the purpose of raising the sums of money necessary to be raised by taxation against all of the taxable land and improvements with the respective districts hereinafter described to pay for the expense of maintenance, operation, repair and improve- ment of parking places therein, the rates of taxes for the respec- tive vehicle parking districts of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied on all real property in the re- spective districts for the fiscal year beginning JUly 1, 1964, in the number of cents upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed value of said real property as assessed by the County' Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles. The respective vehicle parking districts are described -6- 1258 . as follows: Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No. 1 which includes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Ar- cadia included within Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No. 1 as ordered formed by Ordinance No. 963 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted August 29, 1956 and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia, a copy of said map of Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No. 1 together with a copy of said Ordinance No. 963 ordering the formation thereof and describing the boundaries thereof and the properties included therein having been filed with the County Assessor and the State Board of Equalization of the State of California prior to January l, 1959. Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No. 2 which includes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia , included within Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No. 2 as ordered formed by Ordinance No. 976 of the City Council of the City of Ar- cadia, adopted December l8, 1956 and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia, a copy of said map of Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No. 2 together with a copy of said Ordinance No. 976 ordering the formation thereof and describing the boundaries thereof and the properties included therein having been filed with the County Assessor and the State Board of Equalization of the State of California prior to January 1, 1959. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be effective upon its adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (l5) days from the passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune and shall forthwith forward a certified copy hereof to the Tax Division, Auditor-Controller, 500 West Temple .Street, Los Angeles 12, California.
