ORDINANCE NO. 1271
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY
OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY DESCRIBED IN
RESOLUTION NO. 3711 ADOPTED BY SAID
CITY COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1964 AND
DESIGNATED THEREIN AS "ANNEXATION NO.33,
WEST ARCADIA UNINHABITED".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia did
on its own motion on September 15, 1964, adopt Resolution No. 3711
entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY,COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 33 WEST ARCADIA
UNINHABITED", which resolution recited that the proceedings for the
annexation of the territory hereinafter described were initiated on
the said Council's own motion, and stated the reasons for which the
said Council desires to annex said territory, and which resolution
further specifically described the boundaries of the territory sought
to be inciuded in said City, and fixed Tuesday, November 3, 1964, at
the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall
of said City, as the day, hour and place when and where the City
Council would hear protests made by any person owning real property
in such territory proposed to be annexed.
SECTION 2. That at a regular meeting of said City Council
held on the 3rd day of November, 1964, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.
in the Council Chamber of said City Council in the Arcadia City Hall,
240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, said City Council did find and
determine that the publication of Resolution No. 3711 had been made
at the time and in the manner required by Section 35311 of the Govern-
ment Code of the Stare of California. That the annexation of said

territory is not prohibited either by Section 35002.5 or by Section
35236 ,of the said Government Code. That the territory proposed to
be annexed as described by said Resolution No. 3711 was and is un-
inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Arcadia. That written
protest was not made either by private owners of one-half of the
value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed or
by public owners of one-half of the publicly owned territory pro-
posed to be annexed; that no protest whatsoever was made.
SECTION 3. That under and pursuant to and in accordance
with the provisions of an act of the legislature of ~he State of
California entitled "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939",
the annexation to the City of Arcadia of that certain uninhabited
territory contiguous to said City as described in Resolution No. 3711,
adopted by said City Council of said City on September 15, 1964, and
therein designated as "Annexation No. 33, West Arcadia Uninhabited",
be and the same is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved. That a
specific description of the boundaries of said territory, as sub-
mitted to and favorably reported upon by the Boundary Commission of
Los Angeles County pursuant to Section 35002 of the California
Government Code, is as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the City of Arcadia
Boundary, as same existed on May 1, 1964, said
angle point being the intersection of a line that
is parallel with the easterly line of Lot 3, Block A,
Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, as shown on map
recorded in Book 6, page 137 of Maps, in the office
of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, and 378 feet
easterly, measured along the northerly line of said
lot from the northwesterly corner thereof, and the
southerly line of said Lot 3, said southerly line
now being the center line of Naomi Avenue 50 feet
wide; thence westerly 411 feet, more or less, along
said southerly line and its westerly prolongation to
the center line of Golden West Avenue, 60 feet wide,
as shown on map of said tract; thence northerly along
said last mentioned center line 330 feet to said
City of Arcadia boundary; thence easterly along said
boundary and following the same through its various
courses and distances to the point of beginning.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and within fifteen (15) days after the date of
adoption hereof shall cause a copy hereof to be published once in
the Arcadia Tribune, and the City Clerk shall upon the taking effect
of this Ordinance, make and certify under the seal of the City of
Arcadia and transmit to the Secretary of State of the State of
California a copy of this Ordinance giving the date of its passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 17th
