ORDINANCE NO. 1295
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY
OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY DESCRIBED IN
RESOLUTION NO. 3791 ADOPTED BY SAID
CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 18 1965 AND
DESIGNATED THEREIN AS hANNEXATION NO.
36, SOUTHEAST ARCADIA UNINHABITED".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
did on its own motion on May 18, 1965, adopt Resolution No. 3791
entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS 'ANNEXATION NO. 36, SOUTHEAST
ARCADIA UNINHABITED'," which resolution recited that the proceed-
ings for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described were
initiated on the said Council's own motion, and stated the reasons
for which the said Council desires to annex said territory, and
which resolution further specifically described the boundaries of
the territory sought to be included in said City, and fixed Tuesday,
July 6, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber
of the City Hall of said City, as the day, hour and place when and
where the City Council would hear protests made by any person own-
ing real property in such territory proposed to be annexed.
SECTION 2. That at a regular meeting of said City Council
held on the 6th day of July, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.
in the Council Chamber of said City Council in the Arcadia City Hall,
240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, said City Council did find and

determine that the publication of Resolution No. 3791 had been made
at the time and in the manner required by Section 35311 of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of California. That the annexation of said
territory is not prohibited either by Section 35002.5 or by Section
35236 of the said Government Code. That the territory proposed to
be annexed as described by said Resolution No. 3791 was and is un-
inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Arcadia. That written
protest was not made either by private owners of one-half of the
value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed or by
public owners of one-half of the publicly owned territory proposed
to be annexed.
SECTION 3. That under and pursuant to and in accordance
with the provisions of an act of the legislature of the State of
California entitled "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939",
the annexation to the City of Arcadia of that certain uninhabited
territory contiguous to said City as described'in Resolution No. 3791,
adopted by said City Council of said City on May 18, 1965, and therein
designated as "Annexation No. 36, Southeast Arcadia Uninhabited", be
and the same is hereby ratified, confirmed and approved. That a
specific description of the boundaries of said territory, as submitted
to and favorably reported upon by the Boundary Commission of Los
Angeles County pursuant to Section 35002 of the California Government
Code, is as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary of the
City of Arcadia, as same existed on January 1, 1965,
and the centerline of Mayflower Avenue, as same is
shown on Map of Tract No. 13477, recorded in Book 269,
Pages 10 and 11 of Maps in the office of the recorder
of Los Angeles County; thence southwesterly along
said boundary to the southwest corner of Lot 43 of
said Tract No. 13477; thence easterly along the
southerly line of said Lot 43 and its easterly pro-
longation to said centerline of Mayflower Avenue;
thence northerly along said centerline to the point
of beginning.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and within fifteen (15) days after the date of
adoption hereof shall cause a copy hereof to be published once in
the Arcadia Tribune, and the City Clerk shall upon the taking
effect of this Ordinance, make and certify under the seal of the
City of Arcadia and transmit to the Secretary of State of the
State of California a copy of this Ordinance giving the date of
its passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, held on the 20th day of July

the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
