ORDINANCE NO. 1230
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY
OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY DESCRIBED IN
RESOLUTION NO. 3621 ADOPTED BY SAID
CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 15, 1963 AND
DESIGNATED THEREIN AS "ANNEXATION NO.
31, SOUTHEAST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED)".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
did on its own motion on October 15, 1963, adopt Resolution No.
3621 entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR, SETTING A PUBLIC
HEARING CONCERNING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE OF SUCH
PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
ARCADIA OF CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT
CITY LIMITS OF SAID CITY, SAID TERRITORY BEING SITUATED NEAR THE
SOUTHEASTERLY PORTION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND DESIGNATED AS
'ANNEXATION NO. 31, SOUTHEAST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED) ''', which reso-
lution recited that the proceedings for the annexation of the terri-
tory hereinafter described were initiated on the said Council's own
motion, and stated the reasons for which the said Council desires
to annex said territory, and which resolution further specifically
described the boundaries of the territory sought to be included in
said City, and fixed Tuesday, December 3, 1963, at the hour of
8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said
City, as the day, hour and place when and where the City Council
would hear protests made by any person owning real property in
such territory proposed to be annexed.

SECTION 2. That at a regular meeting of said City Coun-
cil held on the 3rd day of December, 1963, at the hour of 8:00
o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber of said City Council in the
Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, said City
Council did find and determine that the publication of Resolution
No. 3621 had been made at the time and in the manner required by
Section 35311 of the Government Code of the State of California.
That the annexation of said territory is not prohibited either by
Section 35002.5 or by Section 35236 of the said Government Code.
That the territory proposed to be annexed as described by said
Resolution No. 3621 was and is uninhabited and is contiguous to
the City of Arcadia. That written protest was not made either by
private owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned
territory proposed to be annexed or by public owners of one-half
of the~publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed.
SECTION 3. That under and pursuant to and in accordance
with the provisions of an act of the legislature of the State of
California entitled "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939", the annexation to the City of Arcadia of that certain unin-
habited territory contiguous to said City as described in Resolu-
tion No. 3621, adopted by said City Council of said City on
October 15, 1963, and therein designated as "Annexation No. 31,
Southeast Arcadia (Uninhabited)", be and the same is hereby rati-
fied, confirmed and approved. That a specific description of the
boundaries of said territory, as submitted to and favonlllly reported
upon by the Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County pursuant
to Section 35002 of the California Government Code, is as follows:

TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary of the
City of Arcadia as same existed on September 10, 1963, and the
easterly boundary of Tract No. 16091, as shown on Map recorded
in Book 358, Pages 1, 2 and 3, of Maps in the office of the Re-
corder of Los Angeles County; thence southerly along said easterly
Tract boundary to the southeasterly corner of Lot 16 of said
Tract; thence westerly along the southerly line of said Lot 87.28
feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northeast
and having a radius of 20 feet; thence northwesterly along said
curve 29.22 feet to a point of tangency with the easterly line of
Doolittle Avenue as shown on the map of said Tract; thence northerly
along said easterly line to the intersection with the easterly
prolongation of the straight line portion of the northerly line
of Boley Street as shown on the map of said Tract; thence westerly
along said prolongation and the northerly line of said street to
said City boundary; thence northeasterly along said City boundary
to the point of beginning.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and within fifteen (15) days after the date of
adoption hereof shall cause a copy hereof to be published once in
the Arcadia Tribune, and the City Clerk shall upon the taking effect
of this Ordinance, make and certify under the seal of 'the City of
Arcadia and transmit to the Secretary of State of the state of
California a copy of this Ordinance giving the date of its passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 17th day of December, 1963, by the affirmative vote
of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
