ORDINANCE NO. 1171
AN ORDINANCE.OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION,
OF DEARBORN STREET IN' SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS, FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Resolution No. 3460 entitled "A RESO-
LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF
DEARBORN STREET AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF

OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION AND ABANDONMENT," was duly
"
and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Arcadia
on February 6, 1962; that said Resolution, among other things,
fixed the hour of 8:00 o'clock p..m. on the 6th day of March,
1962, in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West
Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, as the time and place for
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation as therein outlined; that a copy thereof was duly and
regularly published in the Arcad~a Tribune, a newspaper of gen-
eral circulation published andGc1rculated in said City, as re-
quired by the Streets and Highways Code of the state of California,
and that the property hereinafter described and proposed to be
vacated was duly and regularly posted as required by the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California; that the affidavits
of said pUblication and of said posting were duly filed with and
are now on file with the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia; that
on the 6th day of March, 1962, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.,
in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Hunting-
ton Drive, Arcadia, California, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia did accept and receive all testimony offered in support

of or in objection to the said proposed vacation; that thereupon
the said City Council found from evidence submitted that the prop-
erty hereinbefore used for street purposes, and hereinafter particu-
larly described is unnecessary for present or prospective street
purposes, and that the public welfare, convenience, necessity and
safety require and will be better served by the vacation thereof
as a public street in said City.
SECTION 2.
That the City of Arcadia does therefore
hereby order the vacation and abandonment of that property, here-
tofore a part of Dearborn Street, in the City of Arcadia, County
of Los Angeles, State of California, specifically described as
follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the center
line of Peck Road, 60 feet wide, as said road
is shown on Map of Tract No. 10790, as shown
on map recorded in Book 187, page 29, of the
records of said County Recorder, with the
westerly prolongation of the northerly line
of Clark Street, 50 feet wide, as said street
is shown on Map of said Tract No. 10790; thence
along said northerly line of Clark Street and
its westerly prolongation, south 67036'40" East
2028.24 feet to the true point of beginning,
which is the beginning of a tangent curve
concave northerly and having a radius of
200 feet; thence easterly along said curve
through a central angle of 45034'20", an arc
distance of 159.08 feet; thence along a
tangent line North 66049'00" East 1210.70
feet to a point in the northerly line' of
said Chicago Park, said point being distant
along said northerly line South 6r36'40"
East 3020.63 feet from the intersection of
said northerly line with the center line
of said Peck Road.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and upon the same taking effect shall cause a
certified copy hereof to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County.

Commencing at the intersection of the center

is shown on Map of Tract No. 10790, as shown
on map recorded in Book 187, page 29, of the
records of said County Recorder, with the
