ORDINANCE NO. 1183
AN ORDINANCE OF THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY 'OF ARCADIA, CALI FDRNIA , FIXING THE
RATES OF TAXES AND LEVYING TAXES FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1962.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That for the purpose of raising the sums of
money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property
of the City of Arcadia as a revenue to carryon the various depart-
ments of said City f.or the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1962, the
rates of taxes for the different portions of the City of Arcadia
are hereby fixed, and taxes are hereby levied on all taxable prop-
erty in the different portions of said City for the fiscal year be-
ginning July 1, 1962, in the number of cents upon each one hundred
dollars ($100.00) of the assessed value of said property'as as-
sessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Los Angeles, for the several funds and pur-
poses set forth in the following table, the taxes levied upon
property in each portion of said City hereinafter described and de-
signated by a district number being at the rates set opposite the
designations of the respective funds in the column headed by the
district number which is prefixed to the description of such portion
of said City as hereinafter stated.
SECTION 2. District No. 1 shall include and comprise all
that portion of the City of Arcadia included within the boundaries
thereof as originally incorporated and all that territory annexed
to the City of Arcadia excepting those portions thereof hereinafter
included within Districts No.2 and No.3.

District No.2 shall include and comprise all that terr1-
tory annexed to the C1ty of Arcadia by the following annexations
thereto: Uninhabited Territory Annexation of 1945, pursuant to
Ordinance No. 559, adopted September 18, 1945; West Arcadia Annexa-
tion, pursuant to Ordinance No. 641, adopted April 15, 1947; West
Arcadia Annexation No.2, pursuant to Ordinance No. 651, adopted
June 3, 1947; and West Arcadia Annexation No.4, pursuant to Ordi-
nance No. 759, adopted March '15, 1949.
District No. 3 shall inc.lude and comprise all that terri-
tory annexed to the City of Arcadia by the following annexations
thereto: West Arcadia Annexations No.5 and No.6, pursuant to
Ordinance No. 804, adopted April 4, 1950; Foothill Boulevard Annexa-
tion No.1, pursuant to Ordinance No. 891, adopted May 18, 1954;
Southeast Arcadia Uni~~abited Annexat10n No. 15, pursuant to Ordi-
nance No. 972, adopted November 20, 1956; Northeast Arcadia Annexa-
tion No. 16, Uninhabited, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1011, adopted
April 1, 1958; Annexat10n No. 17-A, Southwest Arcadia Inhabited,
pursuant to Ordina.nce No. 1053, adopted April 7, 1959; Annexation
No. 19, South Arcadia Uninhabited (Revised), pursuant to Ordinance
No. 1068, adopted November 3, 1959; Annexation No. 20, Southeast
Arcadia (Uninhabited), pursuant to Ordinanc.e No. 1111, adopted De-
cember 6, 1960; Annexation No. 22, South Arcadia (Uninhabited) pur-
suant to Ordinance No. 1117, adopted February 7, 1961; Annexation
No. 25, East Arcadia (Uninhabited) pursuant to Ordinance No. 1138
adopted October 3, 1961; and Annexation No. 26, West Arcadia (Un-
inhabited) pursuant to Ordinance No. 1151, adopted November 7,
1961.
SECTION 3. For the purpose of raising the sums of money
necessary to be raised by taxation upon the real property within
the respective districts hereinafter described to pay for the items

of maintenance and operation furnished the street lighting systems
therein, the rates of taxes for the respective portions and dis-
tricts of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby
levied on all real property in the respective districts in portions
of said City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1962, in the
number of cents upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed
value of said real property as assessed by the County Assessor and
equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.
The respective lighting maintenance districts are described as fol-
lows:
Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 15, which in-
cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the c;ity
of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 15,
as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3343, adopted by the City Coun-
cil of the City of Arcadia on January 17, 1961, and described in
the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore ap-
proved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No.
3330 of said City Council adopted December 20, 1960, a copy of said
map of Arcad1a Lighting Maintenance District No. 15, together with
a legal description of the real property included within said
Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 15, having heretofore
been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of
Equalization of the State of California.
Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 16, which in-
Cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City
of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 16,
as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3344, adopted by the City Council
of the City of Arcadia on January 17, 1961, and described in the
map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved
by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3331

of said City Council advpted December 20, 1960, a copy of said map
of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 16, together with a
legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia
Lighting Maintenance District No. 16, having heretofore been filed
with the County Assessor and with the state Board of Equalization
of the state of California.
Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 17, which in-
cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City
of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 17,
as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3452, adopted by the City Coun-
cil of the City of Arcadia on January 16, 1962, and described in
the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore ap-
proved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No.
3446 of said City Council adopted December 19, 1961, a copy of said
map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 17, together with
a legal description of the real property included within said
Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 17, having heretofore
been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of
Equalization of the State of California.
Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 18, which in-
cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City
of Arcadia included within 4ighting Maintenance District No. 18,
as ordered formed by Resolution No. 3453 of the City Council of
the City of Arcadia adopted January 16, 1962, and described in the
map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore approved
by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3447
adopted December 19, 1961, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting
Maintenance District No. 18 together with a legal description of
the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance
District No. 18 having been filed with the County Assessor and

with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California.
SECTION 4. For the purpose of raising the sums of
money necessary to be raised by taxation against all of the
taxable land and improvements with the respective districts
hereinafter described to pay for the expense of maintenance,
operation, repair and improvement of parking places therein,
the rates of taxes for the respective vehicle parking districts
of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby
levied on all real property in the respective districts for
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1962, in the number of cents
upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed value of
said real property as assessed by the County Assessor and
equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles. The respective vehicle parking districts are de~ ,
scribed as follows:
Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No.1 which in-
cludesand shall include and comprise all that portion of the
City of Arcadia included within Arcadia Vehicle Parking Dis-
trict No.1 as ordered formed by Ordinance No. 963 of the City
Council of the City of Arcadia, adopted August 29, 1956, and
described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk
and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, a copy of said map of Arcadia Vehicle Parking Dis-
trict No. 1 together with a copy of said ordinance Nq. 963
ordering the formation thereof and describing the boundaries
thereof and the properties included therein having 0een filed
with the County Assessor and the state Board of Equalization
of the state of California prior to January 1, 1959.

Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No. 2 which in-
cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the
City of Arcadia included within Arcadia Vehicle Parking Dis-
trict No. 2 as ordered formed by Ordinance No. 976 of the City
Council of the City of Arcadia, adopted December 18, 1956, and
described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk
and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, a copy of said map of Arcadia Vehicle Parking Dis-
trict No.2 together with a copy of sa1d Ordin~nce No. 963
ordering the formation thereof and describing the boundaries
thereof and the properties included therein having been filed
with the County Assessor and the State Board of Equalization
of the state of Californa prior to January 1, 1959.
SECTION 5. That the following table, referred to
in Sect10n 1 hereinbefore, specifies the rates of taxes for
the different portions of the City for the several funds and
purposes herein set forth:

SECTION 6. That the following table referred to in Sec-
tion 3 hereinbefore, specifies the rates of taxes for the different
portions of the City of Arcadia for the respective lighting mainte-
nance districts hereinbefore described;

SECTION 7. That the following table referred to in Sec-
tion 4 hereinbefore specifies the rates of taxes for the different
portions of the City of Arcadia within the vehicle parking dis-
tricts hereinbefore described.

SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the

passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once in the
Arcadia Tribune and shall forthwith forward a certified copy hereof
to the Tax Division, Auditor-Controller, 500 West Temple Street,
Los Angeles 12, California.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foreoing ordinance was
adopted at a~ ~~n~ regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Arcadia held on the 21st day of August, 1961, by the
affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
