ORDINANCE NO. 1128
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING THE ARCADIA MUNICIPAL CODE
BY ADDING TO CHAPTER 2 OF ARTICLE II
THEREOF A NEW PART 8 CREATING A
PARKING PLACE COMMISSION, PROVIDING
FOR THE APPOINTMENT, REMOVAL,
QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS OF OFFICE AND
NUMBER OF MEMBERS THEREOF AND
SPECIFYING THE POWERS AND DUTIES

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Arcadia Municipal Code be amended by
adding to Chapter 2 of Article II thereof a new Part 8 entitled
Parking Place Commission, and Sections 2280 through 2283, inclusive,
the same to read as follows:

PART 8. PARKING PLACE COMMISSION
DIVISION 1. CREATION, MEMBERSHIP AND MEETINGS.
2281. Pursuant to Section 31770.1 of the California
Streets and Highways Code and Article VII of the Arcadia Charter,
there is hereby created and established a Parking Place Commission.
2281.1. MEMBERSHIP. The Parking Place Commission shall

consist of five members.
2281.2. SAME. QUALIFICATIONS. In addition to the quali-
fications specified in Section 702 of the Arcadia Charter, each
member shall be either an owner or tenant of property included
within a Vehicle Parking District formed in the City pursuant to the
provisions of the Parking District Law of 1943.
2281. 3. APPOINTMENTS AND TERMS. Members shall be ap-
pointed and removed in the manner and for the terms speCified by
Section 702 of the Arcadia Charter.

2281.4. MEETINGS. The Parking Place Commission shall
meet at least once every six (6) months upon a day, at a time, and
in a place designated from time to time by resolution adopted by
the Council, and at such other times as such Commission may deem
necessary or advisable.
DIVISION 2. POWERS AND DUTIES.
2282. POWERS AND DUTIES. The Parking Place COmmission
shall have all of the powers and duties of Parking Place Commis-
sioners appointed pursuant to the Vehicle Parking District Law of
1943 and shall act for all Vehicle Parking Districts established
within the City under the Vehicle Parking District Law of 1943.
2282.1. SUSPENSION OF OTHER BOARDS. The Board of Park-
ing Place Commissioners of Vehicle Parking District No. 1 of the
City of Arcadia, which District was described, designated, numbered
and declared formed pursuant to the Vehicle Parking District Law of
1943 by Ordinance No. 963 of the City of Arcadia adopted August 29,
1956, and the Board of Parking Place Commissioners of Vehicle Park-
ing District No. 2 of the City of Arcadia, which District was de-
scribed, designated, numbered and declared formed pursuant to the
Vehicle Parking District Law of 1943 by Ordinance No. 976 of the
City of Arcadia adopted December 18, 1956, are hereby superseded
by the Parking Place Commission established by this Part. The
Parking Place Commission created and established by this Part and
the members thereof shall succeed to, assume and exercise all rights,
powers and duties heretofore delegated to or exercised by the Board
of Parking Place Commissioners of Vehicle Parking District No. 1
of the City of Arcadia and the Board of Parking Place Commissioners
of Vehicle Parking District No. 2 of the City of Arcadia and the
members thereof;, until such time that the Parking Place Commission
established by this Part is abolished.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance.
I HEllliBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 6th
day of June ,1961, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:

Reibold and Balser
