ORDINANCE NO. 1137
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
TERMINATING AND ABANDONING THE OFFER
OF DEDICATION OF AND VACATING AND
ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF DOSHIER
AVENUE OFFERED FOR DEDICATION AS A '
PUBLIC STREET IN SAID CITY AND RESERVING
. THEREIN AN EASEMENT FOR STORM DRAIN
PURPOSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 3395 adopted by the
City Council of the City of Arcadia on June 20, 1961, among other
things fixed the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. on the 1st day of
August, 1961, in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall,
240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, as the time and
place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed termination and abandonment of the offer of dedication
of and the proposed vacation and abandonment of that portion of
Doshier Avenue offered for dedication as a public street in said
City as therein more fully outlined; that a copy of said Resolu-
tion No. 3395 was duly and regularly published in the Arcadia Tri-
bune and Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper of general circulation,
published and circulated in said City, as required by the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California, and that the prop-
erty hereinafter described and proposed to be vacated was duly
and regularly posted as required by the Streets and Highways Code
of the State ,of California; that the affidavits of said publication
and of said posting were duly filed with and are now on file with

the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia; that on the 1st day of
August, 1961, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council
Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive,
Arcadia, California, the City Council of the City of Arcadia did
accept and receive all testimony offered in support of or in ob-
jection to the said proposed vacation; that thereupon the said
City Council found from evidence submitted that the hereinafter
described property offered for dedication as a public street, upon
acceptance to be known as Doshier Avenue, which offer of dedication
was rejected by the City Council of the City of Arcadia on July 1,
1952, is unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes,
and that the public interest and convenience require and will be
better served by the vacation and abandonment thereof and by the
termination and abandonment of the offer of dedication thereof as
a future street in said City.
SECTION 2. That. the City of Arcadia does therefore
hereby order the vacation and abandonment, and the termination
and abandonment of the offer of dedication as a future street, of
that property offered for dedication as a public street shown as
"future street" on Map of Tract No. 17853 to be known as Doshier
Avenue in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, described as follows, to wit:
Parcell. That portion of Lot 94, Tract No.
17853, shown as "Future Street" on map of
said Tract, recorded in Book 443, pages 5,
6 and 7, of Maps, Records of said County.
Parcel 2. That p,ortion of Lot 95, Tract No.
17853, shown as 'Future Street" on map of
said Tract, recorded in Book 443, pages 5,
6 and 7, of Maps, Records of said County.
As heretofore determined in Resolution No. 3395, adopted June 20,
1961, the public convenience and necessity require a reservation
and exception to the City of Arcadia of the right, easement and

right of way at any time, or from time to time, to construct, main-
tain, operate, repair, replace, enlarge, remove or renew storm
drains, sanita.ry sewers, water mains and necessary structures
pertinent thereto in, upon, over and across said portions of the
extension of Doshier Avenue hereinbefore described and offered for
dedication as a public street as aforesaid, and proposed to be
vacated, abandoned and terminated as hereinbefore declared, and
that the proceedings taken herein are subject to such reservation
and exception, pursuant to Chapter 3, Part 3, Division 9 of said
Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and upon the same taking effect shall cause a
certified copy hereof to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, held on the 19th day of September 1961, by the affirma-
tive vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
