HomeMy WebLinkAbout1064 ORDINANCE NO. lo64 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~rHE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES AND LEVYING TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 3EGINNING JULY I, 1959. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLL01:1S: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of raising the sums of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property of the City of Arcadia as a revenue to carryon the various depart- ments of said City for the fiscal year beginning July I, 1959, the rates of taxes for the different portions of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed, and taxes are hereby levied on all taxable property in the different portions of said City for the fiscal year beginning July I, 1959, in the number of cents upon each one hundred dollars ($IOO.OO) of the assessed value of said property as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, for the several funds and purposes set forth in the following table, the taxes levied upon property in each por- tion of said City hereinafter described and designated by a district number being at the rates set opposite the designations of the respective funds in the column headed by the district number which is prefixed to the description of such portion of said City as here- inafter stated. SECTION 2. District No. I shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within the boundaries thereof as originally incorporated and all that territory annexed to the City of Arcadia excepting those portions thereof hereinafter included within Districts No. 2 and No.3. District No. 2 shall include and comprise all that terri- tory annexed to the City of Arcadia by the following annexations -l- 1064 thereto; Uninhabited Territory Annexation of 1945, pursuant to Ordinance No. 5:i9, adopted September IS,1945; West Arcadia Annexa- tion, pursuant to Ordinance No. 641, adopted April 15, 1947; West Arcadia Annexation No.2, pursuant to Ordinance No. 651, adopted June 3, 1947; and West Arcadia Annexation No.4, pursuant to Ordi- nance No. 759, adopted March 15, 1949. Distr~~ct No. 3 shall include and comprise all that terri- tory annexed to the City of Arcadia by the following annexations thereto: "lest Arcadia Annexations Nos. 5 and 6, pursuant to Ordi- nance No. S04, adopted April 4, 1950; Foothill Boulevard Annexation No. I, pursuant to Ordinance No. 891, adopted May 18, 1954; South- east Arcadia Uninhabited Annexation No. 15, pursuant to Ordinance No. 972, adopted November 20, 1956 and NOrtheast Arcadia Annexation No. 16, Uninhab:lted, pursuant to Ordinance No. lOll, adopted April I, 1955. SECTION 3. For the purpose of raising the sums of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the real property within the respective districts hereinafter described to pay, for the items of maintenance and operation furnished the street lighting systems therein, the rates of taxes for the respective portions and dis- tricts of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied on all real property in the respective districts in portions of said City for the fiscal year beginning JUly I, 1959, in the number of cents upon each one hundred dollars ($IOO.OO) of assessed value of said real property as assessed by the County AsseSSOr and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles. The respective lighting maintenance districts are described as fol- lows: Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No.9, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No.9, as -2- 1064 ordered formed by Resolution No. 2853 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia adopted January 15, 1957, and described in the map on file in the office of 'the City Clerk and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia, a copy of said map of Ar- cadia Lighting J\1aintenance District No.9, together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Mainte~ance District No.9, having been filed with the County Assessor and with the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance Distri~t No~ II, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia incl~ded within Lighting MaintenaQce District No. II, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 2855, adopted by the City Coun- cil of the City of Arcadia on January 22, 1957, and described in the map on file in the office of the City Cleric and heretofore ap- proved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 2841 of said City Council adopted December 18, 1956, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 11, together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. II, having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and \'Iith the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 12, Zones I and 2, which includes and shall include and comprise all that por- tion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 12, Zones I and 2, as ordered formed by Resolution No. 2971, adoptl?d by the City Council of the City of Arcadia on January 21, 1958, and described in the map on file in the office of the Ci ty Cle3~k and heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 2954 of said City Council adopted Decembe~ 17, 1957, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting -3- 1064 Maintenance District No. 12, Zones I and 2, together with a legal description of the real property included within said Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 12, Zones I and 2, having hereto- fore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equalization of the State of California. Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 13, which in- cludes and shall include and comprise all that portion of the City of Arcadia included within Lighting Maintenance District No. 13, as ordered formEld by Resolution No. 3099, adopted by the City Coun- cil of the City of Arcadia on January 20, 1959, and described in the map on file in the office of the City Clerk and heretofore ap- proved by the Cj. ty Council of the City of Arcadia by Resolution No. 3089 of said City Council adopted December 16, 1958, a copy of said map of Arcadia Lighting Maintenance District No. 13, together with a legal description of the real property included within said Ar- cadia~ Lighting Naintenance District No. 13, having heretofore been filed with the County Assessor and with the State Board of Equali- zation of the State of California'. SECTION 4. That the following table, referred to in Sec- tion I hereinbefore, specifies the rates of taxes for the different portions of the City for the several funds and purposes herein set forth: -4- lo64 DISTRICT DISTRICT DISTRICT NO. That the following table referred to in Sec- tion 3 hereinbef.ore, specifies the rates of taxes for the different portions of the City of Arcadia for the respective lighting mainte- nance districts hereinbefore described: :C,IGHTING MAINTENANCE RATE OF DISTRICT TAX NO. 9 $1.5973 NO. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and shall forthwith forward a certified copy hereof to the Tax Division, Auditor- Controller, 9th Floor, 155 West Washington Boulevard, Los Angeles 15, California.
