;1t? II~ AN C~DINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADI
FIXING' AND E:ST ABLI SHI NG THE GRADE OF A PORTION OF ST. JOSEPH STREET
IN SAID CITY AND FIXING THE WIDTH OF THE SIDEWALKS IN SAID STREET.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SEC1'ION 1: That the sidewalks of St. Joseph Street are
hereby decl~Lred to be that portion of the Street adjoining the ex-
terior lineEI thereof, one edge of which shall be the er.terior lines
of said Strllet and the other edge of which shall be ten (10) feet
distant from said exterior lines.
The face of the curb nearest the center line of said St.
Joseph Stre~t is fixed as being on the same line as the edge of the
sidewalkfartherestremoved from the exterior boundaries of said Stre
SECTION 2: That the grade of said St. Joseph Street from
the Northeasterly line of The AtChison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway
right of way to the Westerly line of Second Avenue is hereby fixed
and established in accordance with the respective elevations here-
inafter set forth; and all grades fixed by this Ordinance, when not
otherwise designated are declared to be the elevation of the top of
the curb at its intersection with produced property lines of inters ct
ing Streets and Avenues or railway rights of way; are in feet and
are above the City datum plane and at all points between the herein
after desi~~ated points the grade shall be fixed and established so
as to conform to a straight grade between said designated points.
At the intersection with the Northeasterly line of The At-
chison, TOpeka and Santa Fe Railway right of way the grade shall
be 4-93.17 on the North line and 4-92.40 on the South line.
At the intersection \7ith Flo\ver Street the grade shall be
493.25 at the Northeast corner.
At the intersection with First Avenue the grade shall be
4-94.05 at the Northwest corner, 4-93.27 at the Northeast corner;
493.54- at the Northeast corner and 4-92.87 at the Southeast corner,
At the intersection with Second Avenue the grade shall be
4-90.40 at the Northwest corner and 489.60 at the Southwsst corner.

SECTION 3: All Streets and A:vsnues referred to in this
Ordinance are public Streets of said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
once
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in The
"
Arcadia Journal, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in
said City of Arcadia and hereby designated for that purpose and
thereupon ani thereafter the same shall take effect and be in force
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting
of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the 4th.
day of April, 1923, by the affirmative vote of at least three Trus-
tees, to-wit:
