AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AR-
CAlHA REPEALlLNG ORDINANCE NO.. 86 OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND AMEND-
ING SECTIONS 26, 27. 31. 32. 3~, 35. 39 AND ~8 OF ORDINANCE NO. 33
OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA. ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANC~ OF THE CITY OF AR-
CADIA PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF CITY TAXES AND
REPEALING ORI)INANCES NOS. 9 AND 12 OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA". ADOPTED

SEClTION 1: That Ordinanoe No. 86 of said City of Arcadia.

SECTION 2: That SeoUon 26 of said Ordinanoe No. 33 be and
the same is hereby amended to read ae follows:
SEC:TION 26: At the next regular meeUng of the Board of
Trustees of Elaid City of Arcadia following ths first Monday in Sept-
ember. the Board must asoertain and fix.by Resolution the rate of
taxes to be levied for all munioipal purposes for ths ourrent fiscal
year and le~' the same upon all property. real and personal. in said
City, designating the number of oents on each one hundred dollars
Worth of property. 1ev1ed for eaoh fund.

SEC:TION 3: That Seotion 27 of sa1d Ordinanoe No. 33 be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
SEClTION 27: As soon as said Board of Trustees has fixed
the rate of taxation for the year. the C1ty Clerk must oompute and
enter in a separate oolumn in ths Assessmsnt Book, the respeotive
sums in dollars and oents, rejecting the fraotions of a cent to be
paid as a tax on the property therein enumerated and segregate and
place in the proper columns of said Assessment Book the respeotive
amounts due 1n installments as prov1ded in this Seotion and foot
up the columne showing the total amount of suoh taxes and on or be-

Tax and Liol3nse Colleotor, with the full amount of the taxes levied
and take hil! reoeipt for ths amount 01' the taxes due thereon; where
upon the said City Tax Colleotor must publish a notice for two week
in some newl3pa.per printed:. and published in said City 01' Arcadia.

1: That the taxes on all personal property secured by rea
property ani! one-half of the taxes on all real property, w111 be
due and payable on the third Monday in Ootober and will be delin-
quent on the first Monday in Deoember, next thereafter, a.t five
o' olook P. 14. and that umless paid prior thereto, fifteen per cent
will be addad to the amount thsreof and that it said one-half be
not paid be:Core the last Monday in April next, at five oiclook P.M.

Lioense Collector as presor~bed in the preceding Section, the Board
must ohargs the said City Tax and License Colleotor with the amount
of taxes due on the delinquent tax Hat with the penalty or penal-
tiee added thereto, and the oost of advertising, and within three
days thereafter deliver .the liet to said City Tax Colleotor.
SECTION 7: That Section J5 of said Ordinance No. JJ be

SECTION 35: That on or before the firtt Monday in June
of each year. eaid City Tax and Lioense Collsotor must publish the
(delinquent-list , whioh must oontain the names of the persons and a
desoription of the property delinquent and the amount of taxes, pen-
altiee and CI)sts due, opposite eaoh name and description, with the
taxes due on personal property, added to the taxee on real estate,
where the rel~l estate is liable therefor, or the several taxes are
due from the same person. The expenses of publication shall be
oharged agail1st the City.
SE('TION 8: That Seotion 39 of said Ordinanoe No. '3 be
and the same is hereby amended to read. as follows:
SEC'TION J9: The City Tax and Lioense Colleotor must 001-
leot, in addition to the taxes due on the delinquent-list. together
with the pennlties for delinquenoy, fifty oents on eaoh lot, piece
or traot of land separately aesessed and on eaoh assessment of psr-
sonal prope rt;y, eo del inquent, whioh amount must be paid into the
City Treasurl'.
SEClTION 9: That Seotion 48 of said Ordinanoe No. J3 be
and the same is hereby amended to 1. ead. as follows:
SEClTION 48: The said City Tax Colleotor must on or before
the last day of June in each year, attend at the office of the City
Clerk with t!:Le delinquent list with all itell18 oollected, marked

B~~TION 10: The City Clerk shall osrtify to the adoption
of this Ordinanoe and shall oause the same to be publdshed onoe in
The Arcadia Journal, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in
said City of Arcadia, and thirty days from and after the final pas-
sage thereof the same shall take effeot and be in force.
The foregoing Ordinanoe was adopted at a regular meeting
of tha Board of Trustees of the City of Aroadia held on the 16th.
day of May, 192}, by the affirmative vote of at least three Trustees
~to-wit:
AYES: Trustees Dunham, Granville, Multer and Wheeler.
NO:ES: None.
ABSENT: Trustee Knisley.
