AN ORDINANCE O}O' THE BOAHD OF TRUSTEES OF ~.'IIE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALLING AN ELECTIOH TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY OP ARCADIA ON MONDAY THE 13TH, DAY OF APRIL~ A. D. 1908 FOR THE ELECTION OF CEHTAIN OFFICERS OF SliID CITY, APPOINTING THE OFFICERS OF SUCH EIE CTION AND DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACES roH SAME. THE BOARD 01" TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS l~LLOWS, TO-WIT: Section 1.. That pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, dated the 13th, day of March, 1883, entitled; (An Act to provide for the organization, incorporation and government of ]~nicipal corporations), and acts amendatory thereof; said Board of Trustees hereby fixes Monday, the 13th, day of April, A. D. 1908, for the holding of an election and is hereby called to be held City of Arcadia on said day, within the corporate limits of said City of Arcadia for the election of the following officers of said City to-wit: Two members of the Board of Trustees, of said City, to hold office for the full term or period of Four (4) years from and after the 20th, day of April, A. D. 1908; a City Clerk, a City Treasurer, A City Marshal. Section g,. That in "rcadia precinct No.1, the polling place for such election is hereby fixed at Old School House, corner Santa Anita and Falling Leaf Avenue in the City of Arcadia, California. Section i. That the following qualified electors of said City of Arcadia are hereby appointed election officer~s for the holding of such election in Arcadia precinct No.1, to-wit: W. N. Perkins and John Baldwin, Judges A. D. Bowman and John Hussell, Inspectors W. H. Payne and J. P. Cavallier, Clerks George McCoy and William C. Mullen, Ballot Clerks Section ~. That the c,ompensation of said election officers for all services by them to be rendered as such is hereby fixed as the sum of Two (~~2 .00) Dollars each, to be paid by warrants drawn on the City Treasury of the City of Arcadia, in the same manner that other warrants are drawn on such Treasury and paid. Section ~. That the polls for such election shall be open at Six - 1 - O~cl0Uvn~ ,rk, IY Olclock of the morning of April 13th, 1908 and shall be kept open until six olclock in the afternoon of the same day, when the polls shall be closed. Section ~~ That in all other respects said election shall be held in accordance with the general election laws of the state of California, so far as the same are appltcable to municipalities of the Sixth class. Section 1. That the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia shall cause a notice of said elec ti on to he pas ted conspicuously at the poll ing place hereinabove designated at least Ten (10) days before said fixed for the holding of said election; and shall cause such notice to be posted at the Post effice at Arcadia; at the Post Office at S~nta Anita, for two successive weeks precedeing said day so fixed for the holding of said election, which said notice shall state the purpose of said election, the officers of the City to be elected there~t; the time and place of holding the same, and the time of opening and closing the polls. Section 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and m all cause the same to be pas ted. The foregoing Ordinance No. 18 was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia at an adjourned rev,lar meeting of said Board, held on the 3rd, day of March, A. D. 1908, by the affirmative vote of at leas t three '!Tus tees to-wit: Ayes: Trustees Lawrence, Unruh and 'l'ucker and signed and approved this third day of rEarch, A. D. 1908. E. J.
