ORDINANCE NO. 25.
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE TIME FOR THE SALE OF LIQUORS.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful to sell or give away any
spiritous, malt or vinous liquors in any saloon, tipling house, sample
lroom, grocery bar-room, drugstore or in any drinking place or place
where such articles are sold either at wholesale or retail, between the
hours of 1 o'clock A. M. Sunday to 5 o'olook ~. M. the following Monday,
and between the hours of 1 o'clock A. M. and 5 o'clook A. M. of eaoh and
every day of the week other than Sunday.
Seotion 2. The owner proprietor, manager, or other person having
oharge or control of any saloon, tipling house, sample room, bar room, or
other place where spiritous, malt, vinous or mixed intoxicating liquors
are sold or given away, either at wholesale or retail, shall securely
close and lock all entrances and exits from any such place, or cause the
same to be closed and locked and to keep the same in such condition,
against the entry or exit of all persons other than the owner, proprietor
or manager thereof, or the servants regularly employed in and about the
same between the hours of one o'clock A. M. Sunday and five o'clock A. M.
of the Monday next succeeding and between the hours of one olclock A. M.
and five o'clock of said and every day of the week other than Sunday.
It shall be unlawful for the owner, proprietor, manager or other
person having charge or control of any saloon, tipling house, sample room,
bar-room, or other place where spiritous, malt, vinous or mixed intoxica-
ting liquors are sold or given away at wholesale or retail, to permit any
person other than the servant regularly employed in and about the same, to
enter, remain or be therein between the hours and during the time herein-
before mentioned.
Section i. Any violation of this ordinance or any provisions
thereof shall constitute a misdemeanor, and any person guilty of a viola-
tion of same or any provision thereof shall, upon conviction, be punishable
in a fine not to exceed 100 dollars, or by imprisonment in the city jail
of the city for a period not to exceed 30 days, or both such fine and

imprisonment, and it is hereby further provided that any owner or owners,
proprietor or proprietors, lesse or lessees, manager or managers of any
saloon, tipling house, sample room, bar, restaurant, grocery, drug stores
or other place where liquors are sold who shall permit any violation of
this ordinance, or any provision thereof, in or upon the premises
occupied or controlled by him or them, and used for any of the purposed
hereinbefore mentioned shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable in
the same manner as hereinbefore provided.
Section ~. This ordinance will be published in the Arcadian, a
newspaper in the City of Arcadia at least once, and posted in at least
three public places in the City of Arcadia.
Section 2.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after November 20, 1911.
