ORDINANCE NO. 27.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALLING FOR AN ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA ON MONDAY THE
8TH DAY OF APRIL A. D. 1912, FOH THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID,
APPOINTING THE OFFICERS 01<' SUCH ELECTION, FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION AND
DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACES FDR SAME.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT:
Section ~. That pursuant to the provisions of an act of the
Legislature of the State of California, dated March 13th, 1883, entitled
IIAn act to provide for the Organization, Incorporation and Government of
Municipal Corporations" and amendatory acts thereof, said Board of Trustees
hereby fixes Monday the 8th day of April, A. D. 1912, for the holding of
an election, and an election is hereby called to be held in the City of
Arcadia on said day within the Corporate limits of said City of Arcadia,
for the election of the following officers of said City, to-wit:
One member of the Board of Trustees of said City to hold office
for the unexpired term or period of two years from and after the 15th day
of April, A. D. 1912.
Two members of the Board of Trustees of said City to hold office
for the full term or period of four years from and after the 15th day of
April, A. D. 1912.
A City Clerk
A City Treasurer
And to vote on the following Petition:
"Shall the sale of alcoholic liquors be licensed in the City of
Arcadia?ll
Section 2. That the polling place for such election is hereby
fixed at the McCoys Hall, corner First and St. Joseph Streets.
Section i. That the foll~/ing Qualified electors of said City
of Arcadia are hereby appointed election officers for the holding of such
election, to-wit:
Judges; A. L. Parker, Edward Gorsline.
Inspectors; G. C. West, F. J. Goodrich.
Clerks; W. H. Sparling, H. P. O'Callaghan
Ballot Clerks; L. O. Baldwin, Carl Albrecht.

Section ~. That the oompensation of such eleotion officers for
all services by them to be rendered as such is hereby fixed as the sum of
$5.00 each per day, to be paid by warrant drawn on the City Treasury of
the said City of Arcadia, in the same manner as other warrants are drawn
on such treasury and paid.
Section 2' That the polls at such election shall open at six
o'clock in the morning on the 8th day of April A. D. 1921, and shall re-
main open until six O'clock in the afternoon of the same day.
Section ~. That in all other respects said election shall be
held in with the general election laws of the State of California so far
as same are applicable to Municipalities of the sixth class.
Section 1. That the City Clerk of the City of Arcadia shall
cause a notice of said election to be printed in the Arcadian, a weekly
newspaper published in the City of Arcadia, at least three consecutive
times, at least ten days before said day fixed for the holding of said
election.
Section 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinanoe.
