TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION OF THE TRAFFIC IN ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA: MAKING IT A MISDEMEANOR TO SELL AT RETAIL, GIVE AWAY OR DISTRIBUTE ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR SUCH OFFENSES. THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section ~. That ordinance No.6, ordinances of the City of Arcadia be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, firm, company, association or club, as principal, agent, employee, or otherwise within the corporate limits of the City of Arcadia to sell at retail, furnish, distribute or give away any alcoholic liquors except as provided in Section 3 hereof. Section i. Nothing in this act shall be interpreted as rendering unlawful the serving of such liquors by any person at his home to members of his family or to his guests as an act of hospitality when no money or thing of value is received in return therefor and when said home is not a place of public resort. Section ~. Any person violating any provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Six Hundred ($6oo.o0} dollars or by imprisonment in the County jail not exceeding seven months or by both such fine and imprisonment, but any person ftJund guilty of violating any of the provisions of this ordinance by conviction for an offense committed after a previous conviction under this ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Six Hundred ($6oo.00} Dollars nor less than One Hundred ($lOO.OO} Dollars and by Lmprisonment in the County jail not exceeding seven months nor less than one month. ~his ordinance shall take effect from and after midnight of "prll ~Oth, 1912 The above ordinance was passed by the affirmative vote of at least three Trustees and is signed and approved this 29th day of April 1912.
