AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA PROHIBITING THE PLACING OR DEPOSITING OF ANY GARBAGE, OFFAL, RUBBISH, OR OTHER WASTE OR REFUSE UPON ANY PUBLIC STREh"T OR VACANT LOT WITHIN THE CITY OF ARCADU. THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor- poration to deposit, or cause to be deposited, or to place or cause to be placed, or to leave or permit to be or to remain upon any public street or vacant lot within said City of Arcadia any garbage, offal, trash, rubbish, or other waste or refuse. Section ~. That for the purpose of this ordinance the words IIGarbagell and IIWastell are hereby defined as follows: The term "Garbagell shall be held to include and mean all kitchen or table refuse, offal, slops, and like substances; 'Ehe term "Waste II shall be held to include broken crockery, broken bottles, tin vessels, wire and like non-combustible waste matter. Section i. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not less than Five $5.00 Dollars nor more than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of Arcadia for not less than five days nor more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Every such person, firm or corporation, shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during which or any portion of which any violation of any provision of this ordinance is permitted by such person, firm or cor- poration, and shall be punishable therefor as provided by this ordinance. Section~. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be ~ublished once in. the IIMonrovia Messengerll, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of Monrovia, California, and hereby designated for that purpose and shall post the same in at least 'three public places in said City of Arcadia, and at the expiration of thirty aays from the final passage of this ordinance the same shall take effect and be in fbrce. - I - OA~n-c..L no, J / The foregoing ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia, held on the 1st. day of July, 1912, by the affirmat1ve vote of at least three Trustees, to-wit: AYES: Messrs. Pedley, City Clerk, in the City of Arcadia, State of California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia is five, and that on the lOth, day of June, 1912, at a regular adjourned meeting of said Board of Trustees, a quorum being present, the fbregoing ordinance was introduced and read, and that more than five days thereafter, to-wit; at a regular adjourned meeting of said Board of Trustees held on the 1st. day of July, 1912, the same was passed and adopted by a two-thirds vote of all members of said Board of Trustees, to-wit by the following vote: AYES: Messrs.
