ORDINANCE NO. 1808
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA APPROVING
TEXT AMENDMENT 84-1 AMENDING SECTIONS 9269.5.,
9269.7.1. AND 9269.7.3., AND ADDING SECTION
9269.7.5. TO THE ARCADIA MUNICIPAL CODE TO
AMEND THE PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR REGIONAL
SHOPPING CENTERS.
WHEREAS, a Text Amendment was initiated by John A. Waters on behalf of
Ernest W. Hahn, Inc., for the consideration of the following Code amendments to
the Arcadia Municipal Code in order to facilitate a proposed expansion of the
Santa Anita Fashion Pa rk Regional Shoppi ng Center:
1. Amend Section 9269.5 to lower the parking space
reg,ional shoppi ng centers from 5.0 parki ng spaces per 1000
modified floor area to 4.75 parking spaces per 1000 square
requi rement for
sq ua re feet of
feet of modified

area.
2. Amend Section 9269.7.1. and Section 9269.7.3. to exclude Regional
Shopping Centers from the existing tables setting forth parking stall and aisle
dimensional criteria.
3. Add Section 9269.7.5. to provide a new table setting forth parking
stall and aisle dimensional criteria for Regional Shopping Centers, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on November 27, 1984 before the Planning
Call1)1ission at which time all interested persons were given full opportunity to be
heard, and to present evidence, and

WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a public hearing concerning this
proposal on February 19, 1985 and approved the amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 9269.5. be amended to read as follows:
"9269.5. OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS. No less than the following
number of off-street parki ng spaces shall be provided and maintained for each of
the following uses, except those temporary reductions permitted by the Business
Pennit and License Review Board for parking lot sales and for promotional
entertai nment events.

When a fractional figure is found as a remainder in computotions made to
detennine the amount of required off-street parking, such fraction shall be
construed to be the next largest whole number . _

SECTION 4. That Section 9269.7.5. be added to read as follows:
"9269.7.5. SAME. REGIONAL SHOPPING CENTERS. All Ra"ki ng areas for a
Regional Shopping Center shall be developed in accordance with the following
tables:

SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptiun oL.this Ordi nance
and shall cause a copy of the same to be published in the official newspaper of
said City within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. '.
