ORDINANCE NO. 1684
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AMENDING
SECTION 9233.12 OF THE ARCADIA MUNICIPAL CODE
TO REZONE 9808-9828 NAOMI AVENUE AND 1302-1320
GOLDEN WEST AVENUE FROM C-l TO R-3.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia held a
public hearing on June 19, 1979, for the purpose of considering the
9808-9828 Naomi Avenue and 1302-1320 Golden West Avenue from C-l to
R-3.
WHEREAS, all interested persons were given full opportunity
to be heard and to present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does
ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Section 9233.12 of the Arcadia Municipal
Code is hereby amended, by amending the zoning map contained there-
in so that the following legally described property located in the
City of Arcadia presently classified as C-l shall hereafter be class-
ified as R-3:
That portion of Lot 6, Block A of Santa Anita Land Company's
Tract as shown on map recorded in Book 6, Page 137 of Maps
in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of
Naomi Avenue (55 feet wide) and the easterly line of
Golden West Avenue (60 feet wide), thence easterly 315
feet along said southerly line; thence southerly 305 feet
parallel with said easterly line; thence westerly parallel
with above mentioned southerly line to its intersection
with above said easterly line; thence northerly along said
easterly line to the point of beginning.
Section 2. We find and determine that all written documenta-
tion presented by the Planning Department to the City Council for
the hearing on this zone change is true and correct; that this zone
change is consistent with the general plan; that this zone change
would allow for a more harmonious, flexible and desirable develop-

welfare and good zoning practice justify the proposed zone change;
that the new zoning is the highest and best use of property con-
sistent with present zoning classifications; and that said zone
changes will not have a significant effect on the environment.
Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is, for any reason, held to be
invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of the City
of Arcadia h~reby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance
and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion
thereof irre$pective of the fact that anyone or more sections, sub-
sections, sentences, clauses, phrases or portions be declared invalid
or unconstitutional.
Section 4. Neither the adoption of this ordinance nor the
repeal hereby of any ordinance shall in any manner affect the prose-
cution for violation of ordinances, which violations were committed
prior to the effective date hereof, nor be construed as affecting
any of the provisions of such ordinance relating to the collection
of any such license or penalty or the penal provisions applicable to
any violation thereof, nor to affect the validity of any bond or cash
deposit in lieu thereof, required to be posted, filed or deposited
pursuant to any ordinance and all rights and obligations thereunder
appertaining shall continue in full force and effect.
Section 5. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to
be published in the official newspaper of the City of Arcadia within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Arcadia,
at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of July, 1979.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
California, held on the 17th day of July , by the
affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Gilb, Parry, Pellegrino and Margett
NOES: None
