HomeMy WebLinkAbout1557 ORDINANCE NO. 1557 AN ORDINANCE OF THE C!TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AMENDING THE INSURANCE COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN HAZARDOUS ACTIVITIES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 3625 of the Arcadia Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "3625. INSURANCE REQUIRED. All helicopters which utilize heliport or helistop facilities within the City of Arcadia shall maintain in full force and effect liability insurance in the sum of at least five million and no/lOO dollars ($5,000,000.00) combined limit for bodily injury and property damage per accident." SECTION 2. Section 6429.2.1.2 of the Arcadia Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "6429.2.1.2. SAME. INSURANCE. The owner has secured and paid in advance the premium, for not less than one month, upon an insurance policy executed by an insurer and in such form as the Council may deem proper and approve, insuring the owner, driver and public against any loss or damage that may result to any person or property as the result of the owner- ship, use or operation of such automobile or automobiles, provided that the minimum liability or amount of recovery upon such policy or policies for each automobile for hire being so operated shall not be less than the fqllowing: (1) Liability insurance in the sum of at least $2,000,000.00 combined limit for bodily injury and property damage per accident. (2) For the injury or destruction of property in anyone accident, $lOO,OOO.OO." -1- 1557 SECTION 3. Section 6434.5 of the Arcadia Municipal Code ~s hereby amended to read as follows: "6434.5. INSURANCE. No permit required by this Division shall be issued unless and until the applicant files with the City a certificate of liability insurance evidencing insurance coverage in the following amounts: Bodily injury/auto and other $1,000,000 $2,000,000 $1,000,000 each person each accident Property damage/auto Property damage/ except auto $1,000,000 each accident Said certificate shall likewise evidence the fact that the City is named as an additional insured in the insurance policy thereby evidenced, and shall further provide that the insurance thereby evidenced shall not be can- celled, allowed to lapse or expire or be reduced in amount during the term of any such permit unless the City be given at least twenty (20) days' notice in writing by the insurer prior to any such cancellation, lapsing, ex- piration or reduction in coverage." each accident SECTION 4. Paragraph 2 of Section 1 of Resolution No. 4092 is hereby amended to read as follows: "2. No'permit shall be effective until there is filed with the City a certificate of insurance showing that the City is insured for bodily injury in the minimum amount of $1,000,000.00 and property damage in the minimum amount of $1,000,000.00." SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to' the adoption of this ordinance.
