HomeMy WebLinkAbout0199 ORDINANCE NO. 199. f{O/'f1 AN ORDINANCE 'OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AR- CADIA AMENDING SECTION 128 OF ORDINANCE NO. 81 AND ALSO AMENDING I SECTION 7 OF ORDINANCE NO. 154 OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA. , THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That Section 128 of Ordinance No. 81 of said City of Arcadia, entitled: 'An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia establishing fire limits and providing for the issuance of building permits and regulating the construction, , ' I alteration, repair, moving and demolition of buildings and the usel thereof and for the condemnation of buildings and other structures dangerous to ~roperty, life or 11mb and providing a penalty for the violation thereof', adopted July 17, 1918, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 128: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to keep or to cause or permit to be kept, more than five gallons of gasol1ne(not contained in a suitable storage tank buried under ground as hereinafter in this Ordinance provided~ in- side of any public or private garage or automobile filling station (Situate within any Fire Limits or any Fire District now or here- after eetablished by any Ordinance of said City of Arcadia~ except such as is contained in the tanke or reservoirs of automobiles stored in 'such garage; provided however, that nothing herein con- tained shall be cone trued to prevent the keeping of gasoline in portable filling tanks or buggies as herein provided. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to maintain or use or to cause 0>> permit to be maintained or used, more than one portable filling tank or buggy, in any garage or any such portable filling tank or buggy that will contain more than fifty gallons of gasoline or that is not constructed and ap- proved as provided in this Section. Every such portable filling tank or buggy shall be mounted upon all metal wheels, with rubber tires, and shall be equipped with a pump fitted with a hose at- tached not to exceed eight Rr.Pr.ALr.O - r/ 0\111, No, 7 ...I <:1 feet in length, fitted at the end with -1- "d'thl.~(J 0:10. The gasoline shall be pumped into the 2 reservoir or tank of the automobile from such portable filling tl or buggy. Before any such portable filling tank or buggy or any such pump is used, the same or the design or type thereof sball bel approved by the Building Inspector.
