HomeMy WebLinkAbout2082 ORDINANCE NO. 2082 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE ARCADIA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION 9405.19 TO THE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE AND NUISANCE ABATEMENT CODE (TEXT AMENDMENT 97-004). WHEREAS, Text Amendment 97-004 was initiated by the City proposing to prohibit the hanging of laundry on clothes lines or on any other structures within the required front and street side yard areas, Text Amendment 97-004; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the City Council on October 21, 1997, at which time all interested persons were given full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence; and WHEREAS, the City Council detennines that based upon the evidence presented, the public necessity, convenience and general welfare justifies the proposed text changes. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That Section 9405.19 is hereby added to the Arcadia Municipal Code (Property Maintenance) to read as follows: 9405.19 Hanging of laundry on clothes lines or on any other structures within the required front and street side yard areas. In the multiple-family zones laundry also may not be hung from any patio or balcony. SECTION 2.
