ORDINANCE NO. 2066
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS
TO ARTICLE VII, DIVISION 3, CHAPTER 5 OF THE ARCADIA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO WATER SERVICE FEES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY FIND,
DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 7523.6 as it currently reads is hereby amended to read as
follows:

OVERTIME CHARGE. Whenever a consumer requires a turnon or
turnoff of water service to be made at any time other than during regular business hours
of Maintenance ServiceslWater Services, other than for a delinquent service turnon or
turnoff, a charge of One Hundred and no/100 dollars ($100.00) shall be due from the
consumer, payable at the time service is rendered.
Section 2. Section 7532.4 as it currently reads is hereby amended to read as
follows:

DEFECTIVE METER. Upon request and the deposit by the consumer
ofTwenty-Five and no/100 dollars ($25.00) for the first test, or Seventy and no/100 dollars
($70.00) for each additional test within one year, the Department shall test any water meter
so specified. If said meter, upon testing, registers no greater than two percent (2%) of
required flows over the correct value, the deposit shall be forfeited and all water bills paid
as presented; however, if said meter over-registers by more than two percent (2%), the
deposit shall be returned and a proportional reduction made in the current bill and another
meter substituted therefor.
Section 3. Section 7532.7.3 as it currently reads is hereby amended to read as
follows:
7532.7.3 DELINQUENCY. SHUTOFF. Any water account which is delinquent
under the provisions of this Chapter, shall be charged a delinquency fee of twenty-five and
no/100 dollars ($25.00) in addition to the full amount of the water service charges in order
for service to be resumed. Should it be necessary for the Department to send a
representative to tumon the water service after business hours, the delinquency fee shall
be one-hundred and no/100 dollars ($100.00). The delinquency fee shall be paid even
though the amount billed has been mailed. Upon collection of the amount hereinabove
specified, said service shall be resumed; otherwise it shall be discontinued as required in
any such shutoff order.

Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published at least once in the Arcadia newspaper of general
circulation, which is printed, published and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
