HomeMy WebLinkAbout2050 ., : ~ :;. ; ORDINANCE NO. 2050 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA REZONING THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF HUNTINGTON DRIVE AND SECOND AVENUE FROM M-I & D (pLANNED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT WITH A DESIGN OVERLAY) TO C-2 (GENERAL COMMERCIAL). WHEREAS, zone change Z-96-001 was initiated by the City to change .the current zoning designation of the properties set forth in attached Exhibit A from M-I & D (Planned Industrial District with a Design Overlay) to C-2 (General Commercial); and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on February 27, 1996, before the Planning Commission at which time all interested persons were given full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia recommended approval of subject zone change to the City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a public hearing concerning the zone change on March 19, ] 996, and approved said zone change. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the subject properties set forth in Exhibit A are hereby reclassified into zone C-2 (General Commercial). The Map contained in Section 9233.8 of the Arcadia Municipal Code is hereby amended to reclassifY and designate the described properties as Zone C-2. Section 2. The City Council finds and determines that the C-2 zoning designation is the most appropriate designation for this property because of the size (four acres); the location which has frontage on three streets, (Second Avenue, Huntington Drive and Santa Clara Street) and the high visibility from the freeway. The proposed zone change is consistent with the "Commercial" general plan designation and the public health, safety, general welfare and good zoning practice justifies the proposed zone change. Section 3.
