N 0 17 N 18 19 20 21 22 23 H 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 the officials thereof and that the estimated cost of the same is Twenty-six Thousand ($26,000.00) Dollars, and WHEREAS, said Resolution was approved by the Mayor of and President of the City Council and Board of Trustees of said City of Arcadia on said 4th. day of January, 1929, and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said last mentioned mun- icipal improvement is Twenty-six Thousand ($26,000.00) Dollars, and such cost is and will be too great to be paid out of the or- dinary annual income and revenue of said City, NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That a Special Municipal Election be and the same is hereby called to be held in said City of Arcadia on Tuesday, March 6, 1929, for the purpose of submitting thereat to the qualified voters of said City the propositions of incurring on the part of said City of Arcadia of certain bonded indebted- ness for the several purposes set forth in said Resolution and hereinafter stated. SECTION 2: That said propositions to be voted on at said Election so to be held as aforesaid, are as follows: FIRST: The issuing of bonds of the City of Arcadia in the sum of $90,000.00 in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled: "An Act authorizing the incurring of Indebtedness by Cities, Towns and Municipal Corporations for municipal improvements and regu- lating the acquisition, construction or completion thereof II , be- coming a law February 25, 1901, and all Acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto and with the General Incorporation ~ct of the State of California for Cities of the Sixth Class, for the object. and purpose of the acquisition and construction by sai City of Arcadia of a certain municipal improvement, to-wit: The acquisition of all lands necessary or convenient -2- o~ no { t:Za..!:>.-J ,~ 9 10 11 12 0 z Q IJ z " 03:;:! Building; that the estimated cost of the said last mentioned municipal improvement is $90,000.00 3 4 and that the amount of the principal of the indebtedness to be incurred therefor is the sum of $90,000.00. 5 6 I I 7 That if the proposition of incurring the indebtedness for said purpose so submitted at such Election receives the re- quisite number of votes, to-wit: two-thirds of the votes of the qualified voters of said City voting upon said proposition at , said Election, bonds of s~id City of Arcadia in the sum of I $90,000.00 shall be issued and sold for the purpose of acquiring 8 and constructing said municipal improvement. Said bonds shall bear interest at a rate not to excee six per cent per annum, payable semi-annually and the principal and interest thereof shall be payable in lawful money of the United States of America. SECOND: The issuing of bonds of the City of Arcadia in the sum of $26,000.00 in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of.. That if the proposition of inourring the indebtedness for said purpose so submitted at such Election reoeives the re- quisite number of votes, to-wit: Two-thirds of the votes of the qualified voters of said City voting upon said proposition at said Election, bonds 'of said City of Arcadia in said sum of $26,000.00 shall be issued and sold for the purpose of constructing and oom- pleting said last mentioned munioipal improvement. Said bonds shall bear interest at .a rate not to exoeed six per cent per annum, payable semi-annually and the principal and interest thereof shall be payable in lawful money of the United States of America. SECTION 3: That for the purpose of paying the principal and interest of suoh bonds, the City Council and Board of Trus- tees of. said City shall at, the time of fixing the general tax levy and in the manner for such general tax levy provided, levy and collect annually each year until said bonds are paid. or un- til there shall be a sum in the Treasury of said City set apart for ,that purpose, to meet all sums ooming due for principal'and interest on such bonds, a tax suffioient to pay the annual in- terest on said bonds and also such part of tne principal thereof as shall become due before the time for fixing the next general tax levy. Said tax shall be in addition~o all other taxes levied for municipal purposes and shall be oollected at the same time and in the same manner as other munioipal taxes are oolleoted, and be used for no other purpose than the payment of said bonds and aooruing interest. SECTION~: That the polls for said Election must be opened at 6 o'olook A. M. of the day of said Eleotion and must be kept open until 7 o'olock P. Sut no one who shall arrive at the polling place after 7 o'clcck in the afternoon, shall be entitled to vote, although the polls may be open when he arrives. SECTION 5: That the ballots to be used at said Election shall oontain the following propositions to be voted for by the qualified voters of said City of Arcadia at such Election so called and to be held on Tuesday, March 6, 1929, in said City, to-wit: First: Shall bonds of the City of Arcadia in the sum of $90,000.00 be issued for the acquisition and construction by said City of Arcadia of a certain municipal improvement, to-wit: The acquisition of all lands necessary or convenient for a Public Library in said City and the construction on a portion thereof of a Public Library Building. Second: Shall bonds of the City of Arcadia in the sum of $26,000.00 be issued for the construction and completion by said City of Arcadia of a certain other municipal improvement, to-wit: The construction of an Annex to the City Hall of said City, the same to include a City Jail and offices and' quarters necessary for the use of the various departments of said City and the officials thereof. OFFICERS OF ELECTION. Inspector: Samuel J. Wilson, Burch A. Baldwin, Elmer E. Parker and Elmer W. Barth. Judge: Clerks: ARCADIA CITY CONSOLIDATED PRECINCT NO.3: POLLING PLACE: Real Estate Office of James T. McMicken~, situate at No. 1206 South Baldwin Avenue, Arcadia, California. Inspector: Stella E. Brookover, Judge: Ashbury J. Lay. Clerks: Florence C. Lafever and E. Mae Angstad. SECTION 8: That the compensation to be paid to each of said officers of election for all services by each of said officers to be rendered at said Special Municipal Election shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $6.00. SECTION 9: That said Special Municipal El~ction shall be held in every manner, other than hereinabove specifically set forth, wholly in accordance with the Election Laws of the State of California, insofar as said Election Laws are applicable to Municipal Elections in Cities of the Sixth Class of the State of California. No other notice of said Election than the publication aforesaid shall be necessary.
