HomeMy WebLinkAbout5688 RESOLUTION NO. 5688 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, EST ABLISffiNG COMPENSATION FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS WITHIN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FOR FISCAL YEARS 1992-93, 1993-94 AND 1994-95 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Effective July 12, 1992, the Salary Schedule shall be improved by 4% for the following classifications: Assistant Pump Mechanic Pumping Plant Operator Equipment Operator Storekeeper General Repairman Sweeper Operator Maintenance Worker Water Foreman Parks Leadworker Water Quality/Backflow Inspector Public Works Foreman Water Service Representative Pump Mechanic Effective December 27, 1992, for the classifications listed above, the Salary Schedule rate shall be improved by 3 %. Effective June 27, 1993, for the classifications listed above, the Salary Schedule rate shall be improved by 4 %. Effective December 26, 1993, for the classifications listed above, the Salary Schedule rate shall be improved by 3 %. Effective June 26, 1994, for the classifications listed above, the Salary Schedule rate shall be improved by 4%. SECTION 2. Effective June 28, 1992, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall increase the amount the City pays toward the monthly health and dental insurance premium cost of a City health insurance plan to $420.00 to each employee enrolled in a health and dental insurance plan provided the City's contribution does not exceed the cost for insurance. If the City's contribution exceeds the cost of employee only coverage, the difference may be contributed toward the cost of dependent coverage or paid in cash or to the employee's account in the City's Deferred Compensation plan, at the employee's option. If the premium cost of a health and dental plan exceeds the City's contribution, the employee shall pay through payroll deduction the difference between the monthly premium and the amount contributed by the City. The employee's exercise of the option to use the difference toward dependent health coverage or the Deferred Compensation plan is subject to the conditions controlling enrollment periods and eligibility established by the respective plans or carriers. Effective June 27, 1993, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall increase the amount the City pays toward the monthly health and dental insurance premium cost of a City health insurance plan to $462 to each employee enrolled in a health and dental insurance plan provided the City's contribution does not exceed the cost for insurance. EffeCtive June 26, 1994, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall increase the amount the City pays toward the monthly health and dental insurance premium cost of a City health insurance plan to $508 to each employee enrolled in a health and dental insurance plan provided the City's contribution does not exceed the cost for insurance. - 2 - 5688 SECTION 3. As soon as reasonably possible, the City shall establish and implement a safety shoe/boot program. The City shall set standards for footwear in the Public Works Department. The City shall provide a safety boot for each appropriate AFSCME represented unit member. SECTION 4. The salary and benefits set forth herein are predicated on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOD) by the City and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFL-CIO), Local 2264). At the time of this Resolution, the MOU is not in final written form. The terms of this Resolution shall be of no force and effect if the MOU referred to herein is not signed by July 31, 1992. SECTION 5, Except as to specific changes set forth in this Resolution all other benefits provided in prior resolutions shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 6.
