" 18 19 ,- 20. ..",Ei;\)"\,) -I g , ()RO, 1\0, 21 ~,'I-, 22 23 . ...., 24 ~t\ENDEP ~ QlUl, fip. ~ 5 MAENPED 26 ORD~ 1'10''''7 '~MtNDEII ~ OR\), !to......... ,.:..mIIlED ~9 Ol\il. \\0, --3b 31 32 ORDINANCE NO. 2l7. ... jyO, ;2 I 7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AR- 1 CADIA AMENDING SECTIONS 2, 10 AND 11 OF ORDINANCE NO. 170 OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN A11D 2 NUMBERED SECTION 9-A. 3 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOVlS: SECTION 1: That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 170 of the City of Arcadia, entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Ar- cadia, California, Providing for the Establishment or Erection in the said City of Seven Zones Consisting of Various Districts and Prescribing the Classes of Buildings, Structures, Improvement , and Occupancy in said Several Zones, and the Uses Thereof; The Percentage of Area That May Be Covered by Improvements and the Height to Which Buildings May Be Erected; Defining the Terms Used Therein; and Prescribing the Penalty for the Violation of the .Provisions Thereof", adopted March 3, 1926, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 2: That in order to designate, regulate and restrict the location and locations of commerce, business, trades and enterprises; and the location and locations of all'buildings designated, designed, arranged or intended for special uses, seven (7) classes of Districts which shall be respectively known as "Zone A", "Zone B", "Zone C"; "Zone D", "Zone E", "Zone F" and "Zone G", which said several Zones and the Districts of each thereof, so far as said Districts are hereinafter defined, are hereby established; and the boundaries of said Districts and each of them are shown upon the "Zone Map" of said City of Ar- cadia attached hereto, which is by this reference expressly made a part thereof, and \vhich is hereby referred to for a particular description of said Districts and each of them. SECTION 2: That Sectio~~O of aald Ordinance No. 170 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "ZONE F". '1 31 (/~fC1Z- //0.;G 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 . 13 z z - . o - 03: .... z 14 w<(:;a: O.JlllO crt-III!: :J<.J.J 15 I-cn::!< (/)>>u laJloI.i, ""zz- 16 " . > ZOoO >- " " Z I- i<J z :Jo(~O 17 a ;. ~ 0 " 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ture shall be erected, constructed, established, altered or en- larged in Zone "F" which is designated, designed, arranged or intended to be occupied or,used for any purpose other than the following spec1f1.ed trades and industries or purposes: Ammonia chlorine or bleaching powder manufacture, asphalt manufacture or refining; brick and tile terra cota manufacture or storage; boiler works, creosote treatment or manufacture; crematory; dis- tillation of coal, wood or bones; fat rendering; fertilizer man- ufacture; gas (illuminating or heating) manufacture; glue manu- facture; gun powder, fire works or explosives manufacture and storage; incineration or reduction of garbage, offal, dead ani- , mals or refuse; iron foundry, lamp black manufacture; lime, cemen , and plaster of paris manufacture; paint manufacture; petroleum refining and storage; pickle, sauerkraut, sausage or vinegar man- ufacture; railroad yard or roundhouse; rawhides and skins, curing and tanning; rolling mill, scrap iron, junk or rags storage or baling; slaughter of animals or fowls; smelting of iron, saap manufacture; stock yards, stone mill and quarry; sulphurous nitri or hydrochloric acid manufacture; tallow, grease and lard man- ufacture and refining; tar roofing or tar water-proofing manu- facture; tobacco (chewing) manufacture; or similar obnoxious purposes. No such building, structure or improvement shall be erected to a height greater than three quarters the width of the street upon which the lot fronts nor shall such structure contain more than six stories, provided however, that towers, steeples, water tanks, pent houses, etc. may be erected above said limits. Any building, structure or iLliprovement in said Zone "F" may cover the total area of the lot; provided however, that build ings or structures used for human habitation shall conform to all bUilding codes and other regulations governing such buildings or structures. -2- jEmlBl .f oRl.\. SECTION 11: That hereafter any building, structure or improvement or premise may be used and any building or struc- ture may be erected or constructed, established or enlarged in , Zone IIGII without restriction as to its design, arrangement or intended use or purpose, provided such building, structure or improvement, or the use or purpose thereof is not prohibited by law or Ordinance now in force or which may be hereafter enacted. No such building, structure or improvement sh~11 be erected to a height greater than three-quarters the width of the street upon which the lot fronts nor shall such structures con- tain more than six stories, provided however, that towers, stee- ples, water tanks, pent houses, etc. may be erected above said l1mi ts. Any building, structure or improvement in said Zone IIGI may cover the total area of said lot; provided however, that buil - ings or structures used for human habitation shall conform to all building codes and other regulations governing such build- ings or structures. SECTION 5: The City Clerk shall certify ,to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be pub- lished once in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City and thereupon and thereafter the same shall take effect and be in force. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City of Arcadia, held on the l5th. day of August, 1928, by the affirmative vote of at least three C?uncilmen, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen BOlz, Granville,Holt, Multer and Schermerhorn, NOES: None, and signed and approved this 15th. day of August, 192e. tTlJ ~ Mayor.
