Staff remarked that the Olive Gardens has submitted plans to the City for review. In answer to a question from the Commission, Mr. Harbicht said that the Council needed more information on the waste -by -rail project. He explained that the waste would be taken out of the City via rail to the desert. He noted that the this would be very costly for the City, approximately $50 a ton. Presently the City is paying $13 a ton to have the trash removed from the City. The cost per ton would be dependant on the number of cities participating in the program. The Council felt that there would be better alternatives to the trash problem.
