ORDINANCE NO. 226.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AR-
CADIA REGULATING THE APPEARANCE OF MINORS ON THE PUBLIC STREETS
OR OTHER PUBLIC PLACES OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AFTER NINE O'CLOCK
P. M.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That it shall be unlawful for any 'child
under the age of 16
years and not accompanied by its parent
or adult guardian having legal custody and control of said child,
to loiter, wander or stroll about the public streets, avenues,
alleys or other public places in said City of Arcadia, between
the hour of nine o'clock P. M. and the time of sunrise on the
succeeding day.
SECTION 2: That it shall be unlawful for any parent,
guardian or other person having the legal care and custody of
any child under the age of 16

years, to allow or permit an:
such child or ward to go upon or be upon any public street, aVI
nue, alley or other public place in said City of Arcadia, unaci
panied by such parent, guardian
care and custody of such child,
or other person having the lege

between the hour of nine o'clock
P. M. and the time of sunrise on the succeeding day.
SECTION 3: That any person violating any of the pro-
visions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not
exoeeding $3QO.00 or by imprieonment in the City Jail of said j
City of Arcadia or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angele ,
State of California, at the discretion of the Committing Magis-
trate, for a term not exceeding three months, or by both such
fine and imprtsonment.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the adop-
tion of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
once in Tne Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published and cir-

culated in said City of Arcadia and thirty days from and after
the final pa,ssage thereof the same shall take effect and be in
force.

The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meet-
ing of the City Council of said City of Arcadia, held on the 17th.
day of April, 1929, by the caffirmati ve vote of at least three
Councilmen, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: BOlz, Granville, Holt, Multer and
Schermerhorn,
NOES: NONE,
e,nd signed and approved this 17th. day of April, 1929.
