ORDINANCE NO. 23~.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF A CERTAIN
ALLEY IN BLOCK 74 OF SANTA ANITA TRACT, IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience
require and that the City Council of the City of Arcadia do here-
by order the following improvement to be made, to-wit:
That that portion of that certain Alley situate in Block
74, Santa Anita Tract, in the City of Arcadia, County of Los An-
geles, State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point ten (10) feet Wssterly from the
Southeasterly corner of Lot IS, Block 74, Santa Anita Tract, as
per map recorded in Book 15, Pages" S9 and 90, Miscellaneous Re-
cords of said County; thence Westerly along the Southerly line of
Lots IS and 21, Block 74, said Santa Anita Tract, to a point dis-
tant thirty (30) feet Westerly from the Southeasterly corner of
said Lot 21; thence Southerly in a direct line to a point in the

17, Block 74, said Santa Anita Tract, to a point in the Northerlyl
line of said Lot 17 and distant ten (10) feet Westerly from the !

Northeasterly corner of said Lot 17; thence Northerly and in a
North line of Lot 14, Block 74, said Santa Anita Tract, distant
thirty (30) feet Westerly from the Northeast corner of said Lot
14; thence Easterly and along the Northerly line of Lots 14 and
direct line to the place of beginning, be vacated and abandoned
for street purposes, as contemplated by Resolution No. 524 of
City of Arcadia, adopted and approved October 16, 1929.
SECTION 2: That said work is for the closing up:,
vacation and abandonment of that portion of that certain Alley
particularly described in Section 1 hereof and it appears to said

out of said work and that no assessment is necessary for said work
and that therefore no Commissioners are appointed to assess benef1m

or damagesfor said work and to have general supervision thereof.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once
in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated
in said City of Arcadia and thirty days from and after the final
passage ttiereof, the same shall take effect and be in force.

The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 4th. day
of December, 1929, by the. affirmative vote of at least three Coun-
cilmen, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Bolz, Granville, Multer, Schermerhorn
and Walshe,
NOES: None,
and signed and approved this 4th. day of December, 1929.
