HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956 ORDINANCE NO. 1956 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA APPROVING ZONE CHANGE Z-91-009, CHANGING THE EXISTING ZONING OF R- I 7,500 TO R-l 12,500 FOR CERTAIN PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST PORTION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA WHEREAS, zone change Z-91-009 was initiated by the City to rezone certain R-l 7,500 zoned properties located in the southwest portion of Arcadia, identified in attached Exhibits "A" and "B" to R-l 12,500. WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on September 10, 1991, before the Planning Commission at which time all interested persons were given full oppor- tunity to be heard and to present evidence, and . WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia recommended approval of subject zone change to the City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a public hearing concerning the zone change on October 8, 1991 and approved said zone change, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1, That the subject properties currently zoned R-l 7,500 listed on attached Exhibit A and identified on the attached maps are hereby reclassified into R-l 12,500, and from and after the effective date of this ordinance, said real properties shall be so zoned subject to the restrictions imposed by the provisions of the zoning regulations of said City, The Map contained in Section 9233,19 of the Arcadia Municipal Code is hereby amended to reclassify and designate the described properties as districts in Zone R-l 12,500, Section 2. The City Council finds and determines that the zone change is consistent with the goals set forth in the revised general plan including: (1) maintain and preserve single-family large lot neighborhoods and (2) maintain the spacious character of the single-family neighborhoods and discourage development within these areas which are inconsistent with this goal.
