HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974 ORDINANCE NO. 1974 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 4216.2.2.16, 4216.2.2.18, 4216.2.4, 4216.2.5, 4216.3.1.4 AND ADDING SECTIONS 4216.1.9 AND 4216.1.10 OF THE ARCADIA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING BINGO GAMES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA DOES, HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That sections 4216.1.9 and 4'216.1.10 are hereby added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read as follows: 4216.1.9. SAME. RECREATIONAL. Bingo games conducted for recreational purposes only. All funds collected in payment of Bingo Cards for games played are awarded in prizes. No funds are retained or held over by the organization or group. 4216.1.10. SAME. FUND RAISING. Bingo games conducted by authorized organizations as a form of fund raising for charitable purposes. SECTION 2. That sections 4216.2.2.16, 4216.2.2.18, 4216.2.4, 4216.2.5 and 4216.3.1.4 of the Arcadia Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: 4216.2.2.16. The desired dates, not more than one (1) week and hours on said dates for conduct of Bingo games, none of which dates may be less than forty-five (45) days from and after the date of acceptance of the application for filing by the Finance Director. Bingo games played for recreational purposes only are not limited to one each week. 4216.2.2.18. The filing fee of $40.00 shall accompany the application. 4216.2.4. LICENSE FEES. Each application for a license for fund raising Bingo game shall be accompanied by the annual fee of $50.00. Each application for recreational Bingo shall be submitted with a signed, sworn statement that no funds are retained or held over by the organization. No license fee shall apply to recreational Bingo. 4216.2.5. LICENSE FEES NOT REFUNDABLE. The license fees referred to in section 4216.2.4 of this Division will be refunded in one half of the amount paid to the City if the application is denied by the city. If the application or approved license is cancelled by the applicant, no refund will be issued. 4216.3.1.4. The date of expiration of such license, which date shall be the last day of the twelfth month from the date of issuance. SECTION 3. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption of the Ordinance and shall cause a copy of the same to be published in the official newspaper of said City within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
