HomeMy WebLinkAbout1891 ORDINANCE NO. 1891 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1407 CHANGING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE ARCADIA BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION FROM ELEVEN (11) TO SEVEN (7) MEMBERS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1407 is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 1. There is hereby established the Arcadia Beautiful Commission which shall act in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters pertaining to the improvement and beautification of the City of Arcadia, and shall provide an official entity through which the City may organize and implement plans for the improvement and beautification of the City. Subject to the following proviso, the Commission shall have seven (7) members who shall serve for a term of four (4) years at the pleasure of the City Council, provided that the current membership number shall remain intact subj ect to attrition by expiration of specified terms or resignation until the level of seven (7) members is attained. The Commission shall meet ~n accordance with conditions established by the City Council. It shall establish procedures and rules of operation as it deems necessary to give effect to the intent and purpose of this Ordinance, subject to the approval of the City Council, and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Council. - 1- 1891 SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause a copy of the same to be published in the official newspaper of the City within fifteen (15) days upon its adoption.
