ORDINANCE NO. 303.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 ARCADIA PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF AUTOMOBILES OR OTHER
VEHICLES ON A PORTION OF HUNTINGTON DRIVE SOUTH, HUNT-
4 INGTON DRIVE NORrH, AND COLORADO PLACE IN SAID CITY OF
ARCADIA AND ALSO ESTABLISHING A PARKING TIME LIMIT ON
5 CERTAIN STREETS AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 266 OF THE
CITY OF ARCADIA.

7 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS
8 FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
That it shall be unlawi'ul for any pereon,
10 firm or oorporation operating a "vehicle" as defined by Ordinancs
11 No. 200 of said City of Aroadia entitled, "An Ordinancs of the
12 Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia Regulating Traffic on
13 the Public Streets and Repealing all Ordinances and Parts of
<$lyCb 14 Ordinances in Conflict Therewith". adopted June 15th, 1927, to

SECTION 2:
That it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation operating a "vehicle" as defined by Ordinance
No. 200 of said City of Arcadia, to park. stand or leave the same
standing on Huntington Drive South, a public highway in said City
of Arcadia, between Baldwin Avenue and the Westerly boundary line
'of said City of Arcadia, for a period longer than forty-five (45)
minutes during the hours between 10:00 o'clook A, M. and 6:00
o'olock P. M. on any day except Sunday.
SECTION 3:
That it shall be unlawful for any person,
fi:rm or oorpora tion operating a "vehicle" as defined by Ordinance
No. 200 of said City of Arcadia. to park. stand or leave the
same standing on Golden West Avenue, a public highway in said
City of Aroadia, between Fairview Avenue and Huntington Drive
in said City of Aroadia, for a period longer than forty-five (45)
minutes during the hours between 10:00 o'olook A. M. and 6:00

5 standing on Sunsst Avenue betwean Fairview Avenue and Huntington
6 Drive in said City of Aroadia for a period longer than forty-
7 five (45) minutes, during the houra between 10 :00 0' olook A, M.
8 and 6:00 o'clock P. M. on any day exoept Sunday.
SECTION 5:
That it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or oorporation operating a "vehiole" as defined by Ordinance
No. 200 of said City of Aroadia. to park, stand Or leave the same
standing on Colorado Place between Colorado Boulevard and Hunt-
ington Drive a public highway in said City of Arcadia, during
the hours between 10:00 o'clook A. M. and 6:00 o'olock P. M. on
any day exoept Sunday.
SECTION 6:
That it. shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation operating a "vehicle" as defined by Ordinanoe
No. 200 of said City of Aroadia, to park, stand or leave the same
standing on Huntington Drive North between Baldwin Avenue and
Santa Anita Avenue a public highway in said City of Arcadia,
during the hours between 10:00 o'olook A. M. and 6:00 o'clook
P. M. on any day exoept Sunday.
SECTION 7:
That it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation operating a "vehiole" as defined by Ordinanoe
No. 200 of said City of Aroadia, to park, stand or leave the same
standing on the North side of Huntington Drive South between
Holly Avenue and Baldwin Avenue a publio highway in said City of
Aroadia.
SECTION 8:
That it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or oorporation operating a "vehiole" as defined by Ordinanoe
No. 200 of said City of Aroadia, to park, stand or leave the same
standing on the South Bide of Huntington Drive South between Holl

SECTION 9: That the Chief of Polioe of said City of
Aroadia be and he is hereby authorized and direoted to p1aoe and
maintain or oause to be placed and maintained on those portions
of Huntington Drive North, Huntington Drive South, Colorado
Plaoe, Golden West Avenue and Sunset Avenue hereinabove speoified,
proper official warning and direotion signs for the purpose of
enforoing the provisions of this Ordinanoe.
SECTION 10:
That Ordinanoe No. 266 entitled, "An
Ordinance of the City Counoil of the City of Aroadia prohibiting
the parking of automobiles or other vehicleB on a oertain portion
of Huntington Drive in said City a?d also eBtabliBhing a thirty
minute parking limit on a portion of said Huntington Drive in said
City of Aroadia" is hereby repealed.
SECTION 11:
That any person, firm or oorporation

violating any of the provisionB of this Ordinanoe Bhall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon a conviotion therefor Bhall be
punishable by fine not exoeeding the sum of Three Hundred ($300)
Dollars, or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of
Aroadia or in the County Jail of the County of Los AngeleB, at
the disoretion of the oommitting magistrate, for a period not
exceeding three (3) monthB, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

SECTION 12:
This Ordinance iB deolared to be an
27 emergency measure necesBary for the immediate preservation of the
28 public peaoe, health and safety, and the faots oonstituting such
29 neoessity are as follows:
30 Whereas, a horse raoing meet is to be held within the
31 oorporate limits of the City of Aroadia beginning on Deoember
32 25th, 1934, and oontinuing for approximately fifty-three (53)

daYB, and that it is expeoted that several thousand people will
attend said raoing meet; and in order to faoilitate the proteo-
tion of visitors, pedestrians and others, it is neoessary to
have oertain regulations for the purpose of regulating traffio
in the area and upon the streetB and avenueB mentioned in this
Ordinanoe;
To these endB it is neoeBsary that this Ordinance
shall take effeot immediately.
SECTION 13:
The City Clerk shall oertify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall oause the same to be
published once in the Aroadia Tribune, a weekly newBpaper pub-
lished and oiroulated in Baid City of Aroadia, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall take effeot and be in force.
I hereby oertif,y that the foregoing Ordinance was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Counoil of the City of
Arcadia held on the lOth ,day of Deoember, 1934, by the affir-
mative vote of at least three oouncilmen, to-wit:
AYES: Counoilmen, Corby, D~iels, Hoffman, Krebs
and MoLean,
NOES: None.
