I' I 1 I) 2 [I AN ORDINANOE OF THE OI TY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AR- OADIA REGULATING THE USE OF DEVIOES AND/OR APPARATUS WHIOH INTER- FERES WITH RADIO BROADOASTING REOEPTION IN SAID OITY OF AROADIA AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. THE OITY OOUNOIL OF'THE OITY OF AROADIA DO ORDAIN AS I 31 I 4 51 FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The word "person" shall mean and include 6 both the singular and plural and shall also mean and include per- 7 son, individual, firm, corporation, association, club, society or any other organization. SECTION 2: It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any device, appliance, equipment, and/or apparatus in sai~ \ Oity of Arcadia, generating and/or causing high frequency oscill- ations !JIld/or radiations which interfe'res',vi th radio broadcast re- ceiving apparatus or wireless receiving apparatus, except that a \ person duly licensed to practice medicine; osteopathy, chiroprac- tic or dentistry by the state of Oalifornia or duly licensed by said Oi ty of Arcadia to carryon or conduct the business of a .1 \1 Massage Parlor or X-Ray Laboratory may operate or cause to be I operated any machine necessary to give treatments, providing how- ever, that all reasonable methods of preventing interference with radio broadcast receiving apparatus or wireless receiving appara- tus has been applied. SECTION 3: It is expressly understood.and provided however, that this Ordinance shall not apply to Radio Stations, either Broadcast, Commercial or Amateur, licensed by the Federal Government and/or which are engaged in Interstate Communication or Public Utilities under the supervision of the Railroad Com- mission of the State of California. SECTION 5: When an inspection and test shall have been made by the Building Inspector of said Ci ty of Arcadia or any duly authorized Deputy and it is found that equipment or ap- paratus coming within the terms of this Ordinance is being operate]d in violation of the terms of this Ordinance, the person responsi- J ble for the operation of such equipment shall be notified in writ- ing to discontinue the use of such machine or to make additions, repairs or modifications thereof, in order that the same may be operated in a manner which complies wi'th the provisions of this Ordinance. The mailing of a registered letter addressed to the owner or operator of the machine at the premises where the machine .\ -~ 1 is located shall constitute a sufficient notice for the purpose of this Ordinance. In the svent that the owner or operator of such machine or apparatus does not, within forty-eight (4S) hours after receipt of notice to repair or discontinue the use of such machine, either entirely discontinue the use of such machine or repair the same so that it complies with the provisions of this ~rdinance, such owner shall be deemed to be operating such machine ,I or apparatus in violation of the provisions of this Ordinance and 1 [' , such person shall be subject to the penalties hereinafter provided for suoh violation. I ' day of February, 1931, by.the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit: AYES:. Councilmen: Bo1z, Bottema, Link, Seaman and '.
