AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA PROHIBITING THE SALE OF GOODS, WARES AND MERCHANDISE OR ANY ARTI- CLES FROM ANY AUTOMOBILE, MOTOR TRUCK OR OTHER VEHICLE, WHILE STANDING UPON OR PARKED UPON ANY PORTION OF ANY PUBLIC STREET IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO ORDAIN AS FOL-. LOWS: SECTION 1: That it shall be unlawful for any person,firm or corporation to sell, barter or exchange or to offer for sale, barter or exchange, any goods, wares or merchandise, fruit, veg- \ etables, eggs, chickens or other fowls, or any farm or country produce from any automobile, motor truck or other vehicle, while any such vehicle is upon or parked on any portion of any public street, highway, alley or other public place in said City of Ar- cadia, provided however, that the provisions of this Section shal~ not prevent or restrict the sale of any such articles at r etall from any such automobile, motor truck, or other vehicle, to any of the residents of the said City of Arcadia at their places of residence. _ I SECTION 2: That any person, firm or corporation violat- ~ I ing any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $300.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the said City of Arcadia, or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, at the discretion of the Committing Magistrate, for a period not exceeding three months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be publi shed once in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published. and circulated in~said City of Arcadia, and thirty days from and after the final pas- sage thereof, the same shall taks effect and be in fofce.
