In all other particulars, all sales to the Oity for delinquency in payment of taxes for the fiscal year 1932-33 shall be held and conducted in the manner prescribed in said Ordinances. SEOTION 2; If either or both of the installments of such taxes are not paid on or before June 20, 1933, said property may be redeemed by paying to the Oity Treasurer taxes, penalties,in- terest and costs as provided by said Ordinance No. 33 or of any I Ordinanoe of said City of Arcadia amendatory thereof or supplemen' tary thereto, in all respects as though the time of payment and sale had not been extended. SECTION 3: Notwithstanding the provisions of said Ordinano No. 33, or of any Ordinance of said Oity of Arcadia amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto, the time of the publications of the delinquent tax list and of the notice of sale of all proper- ties which were sold to the City for delinquent taxes in the year 1928 on Which taxes remain unpaid, and.also the time of such sale, is hereby extended and postponed for a period of sixty-one days. The words "five years" as used in any of said Ordinances shall be construed to mean and include the period of time that will elapse between the actual date of such sale in the year lS33 and the time fixed by said Ordinance No. 33 or any Ordinance of said City of Arcadia amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto. for the sale by the Oity of such property in the year lS38. SECTION 5: This Ordinance is declared to be an ungenc measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, andthe facts constituting such necess- ity are as follows: Whereas, because of economic conditions existing throu h. out the State, the Legislature of the State of California has extended the time for the payment of taxes, it is necessary to define and prescribe the duties of Oity Officials charged with the collection of taxes in connection with the computation of penalties, publication of delinquent taxes and sale of property for delinquent taxes. It is necessary that these duties be clearly defined to the end that the extension granted by the Legislature be made operative and to prevent confusion and un- certainty as to the duties of publiC officials in relation thereto and to protect the rights of taxpayers. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meet- ing of the Oity Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 18th. day of July, 1933, by the affirmative vote of at least four Coun- oilmen, to-wit: AYES: Oouncilmen, Daniels, Krebs, Link, Schrader and Seaman, NOES: None, and signed and approved this 18th. day of July, 1933.
