AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNOIL OF THE OITY OF AROADIA
REQUIRING PERSONS OONVIOTED OF CERTAIN CRIMES, WHO SHALL OOME INT
OR BE WITHIN THE CITY OF AROADIA, TO REGISTER IN THE OFFICE OF TH
OHIEF OF POLIOE OF SAID CITY.
THE CITY OOUNOIL OF THE OITY OF AROADIA DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That every person who has been convicted
in any Federal Oourt, or the Oourt of any State within ten years
pr!or to the effective date of this Ordinance, of the crime of
Counterfeiting, Grand Theft, Grand Larceny, Embezzlement, Forgery,
Obtaining Money by False Pretenses, Obtaining Property by False
Pretenses, Burglary, Felonious Assault, Robbery, Arson, Murder,
Kidnaping, Ex~ortion, Violation of any law prohibiting the carry-
ing of Deadly Weapons, taking or enticing any person for the pur-
pose of obtaining ransom, or violation of any provision of any
National or State law relating to the possession, sale or trans-
portation of any narcotic, who comes into the Oity of Arcadia fro
any point outside of such City, whether in transit through said
Oity or otherwise, and every such person who at the time this
Ordinance becomes effective is reSiding or is present within said
City of Arcadia, shall report to the Chief of Police of said City
of Arcadia within forty-eight (48) hours after his arrival within
sa1d Oity and shall furnish to such Ohief of Police a written
statement signed by such person, the true name of such person
and each other name or alias by which such person is or has been
known, a full and complete description of himself, the name of
each crime hereinabove in this Section enumerated of which he sha 1
have been convicted, together with the name of the place where
each such crime was committed, the name under which he was con-
victed, and the date of the conviction thereof, the name, if any,
and the location of each prison, reformatory or ooher penal in-
stitution in which he shall have been confined as punishment
therefor, together with the location or address of his residence,
stopping place, or living quarters in said Uity and each one ther -

of, if any, or the address or location of his intended residence,
stopping place, or living quarters therein, and each one thereof,
with a description of the character of each such place, whether
an Hotel, Apartment House, Dwelling House, or otherwise, giving
the street number thereof, if any, or such description of the
address or location thereof, as will so identify the same as to
make it possible of location, and the length of time for which he
expects or intends to reside within said City of Arcadia,
At the time of furnishing such information, said person
shall be photographed and finger-printed by said Chief of Police
and said photograph and.finger-prints shall be made a part of the
permanent record herein provided for.
SEOTION 2: In the event that any person specified in
Section 1 hereof shall change any such place of residence, stop-
ping place, or living quarters to any new or different place or
places within said City other than any place last shown in such
report to said Chief of police, he shall, within twenty-four (24)
hours after the making of such change, notify said Ohief of Po-
lice, in a written and signed statement, of such change of ad-
dress and shall furnish in such written statement to said Chief
of Police his new address, and each one thereof.
It shall be unlawful for any person required by any
provision of this Ordinance to furnish any such report, to.fur-
nish in such report any false or fictitious address, or any ad-
dress other than a true address or intended address, or to fur-
nish in making any such report any false, untrue, or misleading
information or statement relating to any information required by
any proviSion of this Ordinance to be made or furnished.
SEOTION 3: Said Ohief of Police shall cause to be
made a permanent record of all information, photographs and fin-
gerprints required by the provisions of this Ordinance to be fur
. nished to or by him, and to forthwith furnish .a copy of said re-

cords, photographs and finger prints to the District Attorney of
Los Angeles Oounty; said records, photographs and finger prints
shall at all reasonable times be open to the inspection of any
Peace Officer having jurisdiction within the territorial boundar-
ies of .the Oounty of Los Angeles, Staoe of California, including
the Municipal Oorporations therein.
SEOTION 4: It shall be unlawful for any person requir-
ed by any provision of this Ordinance to furnish any such report
or infDrmation to fail, neglect or refuse to make such report or
to furnish such inrormation, photographs or finger prints, or to
fail, neglect or refuse to render or furnish the same within the
time hereinbefore prescribed, or to fail, neglect or refuse to
furnish to said Ohief or Police within such time any information,
photograph or fingerprints required to be furnished by any pro-
vision of this Ordinance, or to furnish any false, untrue or mis-
leading information or statement relating to any information re-
quired by any provision of this Ordinance, to be made or furnishe .
SEOTION 5: Nothing in this Ordinance shall be deemed
nor construed to apply to any person who has or who shall have
received a full pardon for each such crime whereof he shall have
been convicted, nor to any person who is or shall be on parole
or probation under the laws of the state of California, or whose
parole or probation period under the laws of the State of Oalifor
nia shall have expired without any revocation of such parole or
probation having been made.
SECTION 6: That any person violating any of the pro-
visions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a Misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine not
exceeding e300.00 or by imprisonment in the Oity Jail of the Oity
of Arcadia, or by imprisonment in theCounty Jail of said Oounty
of Los Angeles, at the discretion of the Committing Magistrate,
for a period not exceeding three months, or by both such fine and

Each separate day, or any portion thereof, during which
any violation of this Ordinance occurs or continues, and each
failure, neglect or refusal to make any such report or to fur-
nish any such information, photograph or fingerprints during each
or any day or portion thereof, from and after the expiration of
the time specified in this Ordinance within which such report
must be made, or such information, photograph or fingerprints
furnished, shall be deemed to constitute a separate violation
thereof and a separate offense hereunder, and upon conviction
therefor each such violation shall be punishable as herein pro-
vided.
SEOTION 7: The Oity Olerk shall certify to the adop-
tion of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
once in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published and cir-
culated in said Oity of Arcadia, and thirtydays from and after
the final passage thereof, the same shall take effect and be in
force.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meet-
ing of the City Council of the Oity of Arcadia, held on the 5th.
day of December, 1933, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Oouncilmen, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen, Daniels, Krebs, Link, Schrader and
Seaman,
NOES: None,
and signed and approved this 5th. day of December, 1933.
