AMENDING ORDINANOE NO. 33 OF SAID CITY OF AROADIA BY ADDING THERE-
1 TO TWO NEW SEOTIONS TO BE KNOWN AND NUMBERED SEOTIONS 27A AND 27B.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE OITY OF AROADIA DO ORDAIN AS FOL-
LOWS:
SECTION 1: Th~ Ordinance No. 33 of said Oity of Arcadia,
entitled: uAn Ordinance of the Oity of Arcadia providing for the

assessment-and collection of Oity Taxes and repealing Ordinances

Nos. 9 and 12 of said City of Arcadiau, adopted February 4, 1913,

be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section
to be known and numbered Section 27A and to read as follows:
SEOTION 27A: The taxes on any particular lot, piece or
parcel of land contained in any assessment may be paid separately
from the whole assessment, if such lot, piece or parcel has a sep-
arate valuation on the Assessment Roll, by paying the amount of
City taxes due on such lot, piece or parcel of land, with a proper
proportion of the amounts due as tax on personal property, penal-
ties, if any, and a proper proportion of the tax due to any lesser

Taxation District.
The City Treasurer shall make an entry on the
margin of the Assessment Book, with deductions from the total as-

sessment as extended on the Assessment Roll, shOWing what certain
property has been released by the payment of the taxes as herein

provided, together with the amount of such taxes separately and
specifically set forth.
SECTION 2: That said Ordinance No. 33 be and the same

is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section to be known and
numbered Section 27B and to read as follows:
SECTION 27B: At any time after taxes are due and prior
to the date when the last installment of taxes becomes delinquent

as provided for under Section No. 31 of said Ordinance No. 33, as
amended by Section 5 of Ordinance No. 255 of said Oity of Arcadia,
entitled: "An Ordinance of the Oity Oouncil of the Oity of Arcadia
repealing Ordinances Nos 86 and 125 of said Oity of Arcadia and
amending Sections 26, 27, 31, 32, 34, 35, 39 and 48 of Ordinance

No. 33 of said Oity of Arcadia", adopted May 19,1931, any person
firm or corporation owning an interest.in any lot, piece, parcel,
or fractional part of land, which lot, piece, parcel or fraction-
al part does not have a separate valuation on the Assessment Roll
may have such lot, piece, parcel or fractional part segregated
and separately valued on said. Assessment Roll, in the manner here
inafter set forth.
Each applicant for said segregation and separate valua-
tion must first pay to the Officer then having custody of the AS-
sessment Roll, the full amount of the. taxes, including penalties,
levied against all of the personal property secured by the real
property described in the original assessment, if any. The Of-
ficer receiving the application for said segregation shall forth-
with submit a description of said lot, piece, parcel or fractiona
part of land, together with the proposed segre~ations to the Oity
Olerk and Ex-officio ~~~~~~~~~, who must place a ~
separate valuation upon each of the proposed segregations. The
aggregate amount of assessed valuation of .the parcels so segre-
gated shall remain the same as before such segregation. Said
City Clerk and Ex-officio ~'i~t~:C~U1:le---wH-ect~r must transmit -;.:.
such valuations to the Officer then having custody of the Assess-
ment Roll, who shall cause the description of the. property, to-
gether with separate valuations, to be entered on the Assessment
Roll. Thereafter, taxes including proportionate accrued penalties,
if any, on such lot, piece, parcel or fractional part may be pai
separately from the whole assessment in the manner provided by
Section 1 of this Ordinance.
The Officer to whom application for segregation and
separate valuation is made, shall charge and collect a fee of
fifty cents for each lot, piece, parcel or fractional part separ
ately valued and assessed and shall deposit all fees so collecte
in the City Treasury.

SEOTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adop-
tion of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
once in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published and cir-
culated in said Oity of Arcadia and thirty days from and after
the final passage ,thereof, the same shall take effect and be in
force.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meet-
ing of the Oity Oouncil of the City of Arcadia, held on the 2.0th.
day of December, 1933, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Oouncilmen, to-wit:
