HONORABLE MAYOR AND
MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA
SUBJECT: PROPOSED COUNTY ENGINEER-FACILITIES
BALDWIN AND HUGO REID
GENTLEMEN:
The County of Los Angeles is desirous of building a Regional Office
building on County land at the southerly end of the southern most parking
lot associated with the Arboretum property. The attached plans indicate
what they would like to build. This office will accommodate the
functions of the County Engineer's office for the northerly portion of
the San Gabriel Valley.
The building is proposed to be single-story in height and contain
approximately 7100 square feet. Ingress and egress to the parking area
will be from the existing entry to the parking lot which is controlled by
an existing traffic light located on Baldwin Avenue.
The existing parking lot contains approximately 166 spaces, with the
proposed development the lot will contain approximately 124 spaces.
The proposed office building will require 29 parking spaces.
The County is not required to obtain the City's approval for proposed
County facilities which are located entirely on County-owned property
however, it is County policy to attempt to obtain the concurrence and
cooperation of any incorporated city within whose jurisdiction they would
like to build a facility.
In their effort toward cooperation, the County would like the Council to
approve the attached conceptual plans before the County proceeds further
with this project.
