ORDINANCE NO. 2192
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ADDING SECTIONS
9260.2.10, 9260.2.11, 9262.6.12, 9262.6.13, 9263.6.9,
9263.6.10, 9264.3.13, 9264.3.14, 9265.6.5, 9265.6.6, 9266.4.16,
9266.4.17, 9267.2.5, AND 9267.2.6 TO THE ARCADIA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO LOADING
REQUIREMENTS IN THE COMMERCIAL AND
INDUSTRIAL ZONES
THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. 9260.2.10 is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9260.2.10. LOADING REQUlREMENTS.
All loading spaces shall have adequate ingress and egress, and shall be designed and
maintained so that the maneuvering, loading or unloading of vehicles does not interfere with
vehicular and pedestrian traffic."
SECTION 2. 9260.2.11. is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9260.2.] 1. LOADING HOURS.
Loading and unloading of merchandise or materials within one-hundred fifty (150)
feet of residentially zoned property shall be limited to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
daily."
SECTION 3. 9262.6.12 is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9262.6.12.. LOADING REQUIREMENTS.
All loading spaces shall have adequate ingress and egress, and shall be designed and
maintained so that the maneuvering, loading or unloading of vehicles does not interfere with
vehicular and pedestrian traffic."
SECTION 4. 9262.6.13. is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9262.6.13. LOADING HOURS.
Loading and unloading of merchandise or materials within one-hundred fifty (150)
feet of residentially zoned property shall be limited to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
daily."
SECTION 5. 9263.6.9 is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9263.6.9. LOADING REQUIREMENTS.

SECTION 6. 9263.6.10 is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to rcad:

feet of residentially zoned property shall be limited to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
daily."
SECTION 7. 9264.3.13 is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9264.3.13. LOADING REQUIREMENTS.
All loading spaces shall have adequate ingress and egress, and shall be designed and
maintained so that the maneuvering. loading or unloading of vchicles does not interfere with
vehicular and pedestrian traffic."
SECTION 8. 9264.3.14. is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9264.3.14. LOADING HOURS.
Loading and unloading of merchandise or materials within one-hundred fifty (150)
feet of residentially zoned property shall be limited to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
daily."
SECTION 9. 9265.6.5. is added to thc Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9265.6.5. LOADING REQUIREMENTS.
All loading spaces shall have adequate ingress and egress, and shall be dcsigncd and
maintained so that the maneuvering, loading or unloading of vehicles does not interfere with
vehicular and pedestrian traffic."
SECTION 10. 9265.6.6. is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9265.6.5. LOADING HOURS.
Loading and unloading of merchandise or materials within one-hundred fifty (150)
feet of residentially zoned property shall be limited to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
daily."
SECTION 11. 9266.4.16. is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9266.4.16. LOADING REQUIREMENTS.

A. Loading bays, doors and/or docks on commercial or industrial bui Idings shall be
located a minimum of ten (10) feet from an alley.
B. Loading spaces, bays, doors and/or docks on commercial or industrial buildings
shall not be located within one-hundred (100) feet ofresidentially zoned property.
C. For all loading areas facing residentially zoned property or facing public rights-
of-way, or other traffic areas on-site. there shall be a minimum ten (10) foot high solid
architecturally treated decorative masonry wall, approved by the Development Services
Director or designee, to properly screcn the loading area(s) from view from the public right-
of-way or residentially zoned property. All wall treatments shall have such architectural
treatment on both sides of the screening.
D. Loading bays, doors and/or docks shall generally be located on the rear of the
structure. Bays and doors may be located on the side of a building away from a street
frontage where it can be demonstrated that the bays, doors and related trucks will be
adequately screened from public view from any street or public right-of-way.
E. Loading areas shall be striped indicating the loading spaces and identifying the
space(s) for "loading only". The striping shall be pennanently maintaincd in a clear and
visible manner at all times.
F. No loading space backup area shall be loeated in the first twenty (20) feet from
the street right-of-way or within a parking lot entrance or exit.
G. All loading spaces shall have adequate ingress and egress and shall be designed
and maintained so that the maneuvering, loading and unloading of vehicles does not
interfere with vehicular and pedestrian traffic."
SECTION 12. 9266.4.17. is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9266.4.17. Loading Hours. Loading and unloading of merchandise or materials
within one-hundred fifty (150) feet of residentially zoned property shall be limited to the
hours of7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily."
SECTION 13. 9267.2.5. is added to the Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9267.2.5. LOADING REQUIREMENTS.
A. Loading bays, doors and/or docks on commercial or industrial buildings shall be
located a minimum oftcn (10) feet from an allcy.

SECTION ]4. 9267.2.6.. is added to thc Arcadia Municipal Code to read:
"9267.2.6. LOADING HOURS.
Loading and unloading of merchandise or materials within one-hundred fifty (150)
feet of residentially zoned property shall be limited to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
daily."
SECTION 15. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Ordinance and
shall cause a copy or summary of the same to be published in the official newspaper of said
City within fi fteen (15) days of its adoption. This ordinance shall take effect thirty-one (31)
days after its adoption.

meeting of said Council held on the 15th day of June, 2004 and that said Ordinance
