AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, AMENDING SECTION 304 OF ORDINANCE NO. 781 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, ADOPTED AUG- UST 16, 1949, KNOWN AS THE SANITARY SEWER ORDINANCE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 304 of Ordinance No. 781 of the City of Arcadia, entitled "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, regulating the design, cons- truction, alteration, use and maintenance of public and house connec tion s,~wers, indus trial connec tion sewers, s and and grease interceptors, sand interceptors, grease interceptors, and ap- purtenances; the abandonment of septic tanks, cesspools, seepage holes and dry pits; the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor, inspecting the construction, and making re- cord plans of the facilities permitted hereunder; the making of deposits to assure faithful performance of work permitted hereunder; standard specifications for construction of sanitary sewer and providing penalties for violation of any of the pro- visions thereof, and declaring the urgency herewith, to take effect immediately", adopted August 16, 1949, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 304. APPLICATION BY OWNER. The City Engineer may issue a permit to the owner of any lot used exclusively for residence purposes, to construct his own domestic house connec- tion sewer and appurtenances thereto, provided that the owner shall sign each application for such permit and shall submit therewith a signed statement tha~ no labor will be hired ~nd he will do all the work personally and complete the work as provided in Ordinance No. 762." 1. ad' 7/:.5'-' SEc~rrON 2. That Ordinance No. 781 aforesaid shall be amended as in Section 1 hereof set forth. . SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from pai313age thereof, shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general circula- tion published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and thirty (30) days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall take effect and be in force. I m~EBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 15th day of November, 1949, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilman Boucher, Klomp, Nugent and Russell NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Libby City Clerk of the City of rcadia.
