AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, CHANGING THE SET-BACK LINES ON PORTIONS OF CHRISTINA STREET, A PUBLIC STREET IN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Resolution of Intention No. 1953, and after a public hearing thereon, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby determine that the pUblic peace, health, safety, interest and public welfare require, and it is hereby ordered, that the set-back lines previously established on portions of Christina Street, a public street in the City of Arcadia, be changed and re-established as hereinafter designated. SECTION 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct or locate any building or other structure upon the following described portions of Chris- tina Street, a public street in the City of Arcadia, to wit: On the northerly and southerly sides of Christin~ Street, between Santa Anita Avenue and First Avenue, unless the ~aid building or other structure shall be set back to a line which is distant twenty (20) feet on all properties along the aforesaid pUblic street, such set-back lines as established hereby to be appli- cable to and to govern the use of such properties whether such properties face or side upon said street. SECTION 3. That all other portions of Ordinances in con- flict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed; that this repealing clause is not intended to affect any other Ordinance or portion of' Ordinance in the City of Arcadia not in conflict with this Ordinance. 1. That any person, firm or corporation violat- ing any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof s hall be punishable by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by im- prisoDment in the City Jail of said City of Arcadia, or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, at the discretion of the Committing Magistrate, for a period not exceed~g s~ (6) months, or by both fine and imprisonment; and each such per- son, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate of- fense for each day during any portion of which the violation of, or failure, neglect or refusal to comply with, any of the provisions of this Ordinance is committed, continued or permitted. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, pub- lished and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and thirty days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall take ef- fect and be in force. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 7th day of February, 1950, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Boucher, Klomp, Nugent and Russell NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Libby ci~r6 th~~~"di'.
