AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, Cf;A;,TGING THE SETBACK
LINES ON PORTIONS OF EL MONTE, AVENUE, A PUBLIC
STRl<:::E'l' IN THE CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOliS ORDAIN J~ FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Resolution
of Intention No. 1942, and after a public ~earing thereon, the
City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby determine that
the public peace, health, safety, interest and public welfare
require, and it is hereby ordered, that the setback lines pre-
viously established at forty (40) feet on the following described
portions of El Monte Avenue, a public street in the City of Arcadia,
to wit:
On the south seventy-five (75) feet of Lot 1 and the
west ten (10) feet of the south seventy-five (75) feet
of Lot 2, in Tract 6485, as per map recorded in Book
69, page 75 of maps, in the office of the County Re-
corder of Los Angeles County,
be and the saoe are hereby changed to and re-established at thirty
(30) feet.
SECTION 2. That all other portions of Ordinances in conflict-
herewi th be, and the same are hereby repealed; that the repealing
clause is not intended to affect any other Ordinance or portion
of Ordinance in the City of Arcadia not in conflict with this Ordin-
ance.
SECTION 3. That any person, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this Ordinffi1ce shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by
a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by impri-
sonment in the City Jail of said City of Arcadia, or in the County

Jail of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, at the
discretion of the Committing Magistrate, for a period not exceed-
ing six (6) months, or by both SJllch fine and imprisonment; and
each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of
a separate offense for each day during any portion of Vlhich the
violation of or failure, neglect or refusal to comply with, any
of the provisions of this Ordinance is committed, continued or
permitted.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (l5) days
from the passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once
in the Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation,
published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and thirty days
from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force.
I H~1EBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on February 7th, 1950, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Boucher, Klomp, Nugent and Russell
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Libby
