AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, ~\ ~1-)--'
JUdEliDING OR~INANCE NO. 594 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, ADOPTED ~ ~
JULY 2, 1945, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN c;f-.... ,
AS AND NUMBERED SECTION l-A.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCitDIA. CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Ordinance No. 594 of the City of Arcadia entitled
"An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, California,
making a permanent exception to certain provisions of Ordinance No. 439
of said City, adopted June 28, 1940" adopted July 2, 1946, be and the
same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to be known as
and numbered Section l-A and to read as follows:
"SECTION l-A. Upon the application of the owners of the herein-
above descr:Lbed property, viz. Harold J. Packer and Grace C.
Packer, filed in the office of the Planning Commission of the
City of Arcadia, this Council hereby modifies the exception
herein granted so as to permit the property described in Section
1 hereof to be used for the purpose of the construction, main-
tenance and operation of a drive-in eating stand and a bungalow
hotel conta~ning not less than fifteen (15) units, ~th a total
of not less than twenty (20) rooms, and parking of automobiles
by customerll of the business being so conducted and operated on
said property, in accordance with the plans and specifications
filed with the said Planning Commission and this Council by said
owne:r-s and for such other uses as are specifically provided in
Section 1 of this ordinance, provided that construction of said
drive in ea1;ing stand shall be started within three months and
shall be cOD~leted within one year of the effective date of this
ordinance, otherwise the exception granted by the provisions of
Section 1 hereof shall be and remain in full force and effect
and subject to all of the other conditions therein set forth and
not herein revised".
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the

pass~be tnereof, shall cause the same to be published once in the
Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of 3eneral cir-
culation, IJublished and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and
thirty (30) days from and after the final passage thereof said
Ordinance snall take effect and be in force.
I HER~,:lY CJi.HTIFY that the foreg,oing Ordinance was adopted
at a regula~ meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 21st day of December, 1948, by the affirmative vote
of at least three Councilmen, to Dit:
