AN ORDINAN CE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
APPROVING TIm: ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"WEST ARCADIA AImEX NO.2".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Unin-
habited Terrttory Act of 1939", the verified petiti~ns of Henry
J. Ortman and Emma Ortman, Carolyn E. Bernard and Ralph P. Edwards,
Joseph Kohler and Lucy E. Kohler, and Virginia Hayden and Katharine

B. Rorex were filed with the City Council requesting the annex-
ation to the City of Arcadia,/State of California, of that certain
uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Arcadia designated
as "West Arcadia Annex No.2" and hereinafter more particularly
described; and
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the City Council held on
the 1st day of April, 1947, Resolution No. 1615 was adopted
by said Council giving notice of and fixing the 6th day of May
1947, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber ih the City
Hall of the C:ity of Arcadia, as the day, hour and place when
and where any and all persons owning real property within such
territory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections
to the proposed annexation, might appear before the City Council
of the City of Arcadia and show cause why such territory should
not be so annexed; and
WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution was published in the City
of Arcadia at the times and in the manner required by Section 5
of said "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 193911; and
WHEREAS, no persons owning real property within said ter-
ritory proposed to be annexed to the City of Arcadia appeared
before said City Council at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the
6th day of May, 1947, who had any objections whatsoever to the
annexation of said uninhabited territory to the City of Arcadia;
and
WHEREAS, on May 20, 1947, there was filed with the City

Clerk the written consent of the petitioners above named, wherein
consent was given that the said property, after its annexation
to the City of Arcadia, may be taxed equally with the proper~y
within the C:l.ty of Arcadia to pay the bonded indebtedness of the
city outstanding on the date of such annexation for 1946 Sewer
Bonds heretofore authorized and issued by the City of Arcadia,
or any indebtedness theretofore authorized and to be represented
by bonds of the City of Arcadia thereafter to be issued, and
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with law;
NOW, THE]~FORE, the annexation of that certain uninhabited
territory contiguous to the City of Arcadia, in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, designated as "West Arcadia
Annex No.2", as hereinafter more particularly described, hereby
is approved, and that said property, after its annexation to the
City of Arcadia, shall be taxed equally with the property within
the City of Arcadia to pay the bonded indebtedness of the City
outstanding on the date of such annexation for 1946 Sewer Bonds
heretofore authorized and issued by the City of Arcadia, or any
indebtedness theretofore authorized and to be represented by
bonds of the City of Arcadia thereafter to'be issued.
Said property is bounded on the east by certain property
in the City of Arcadia adjoining Baldwin Avenue and on the north
by certain property in The City of Arcadia adjoining Duarte Road,
in the County of Los Angeles, state of California, more particularly
described as follows:
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11 and 1~ of Tract No. 6925 as per
map recorded in Book 74, page 79 of Maps, in th~ffice
of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15)

days from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be
published once in the Arcadia Tribune and News, a newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated in the City
of Arcadia, and thirty (30) days from and after the final
passage thereof said Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force.
I HERl~BY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 3rd day of June, 1947, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Adcock, Ormsby and Russell
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmen Leeper and Nugent
