THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'rHL CITY OF ARCrDIA OOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOViS : SECTION 1. Petition of H. J. ORTMAN having been filed in the office of the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 439 of said City, adopted June 28, 1940, asking that an exception be made affecting the property described in said petition, and setting forth the specific reasons therefor and the circumstances in connection therewith, and recom- mendation having been made by said PlanninG Commission to this Council and a full investieation and consideration of the facts having been madE! by this Council determines that there are excep- tional or extrae,rdinary circumstances or conditions applicable to the ~rDperty involved and to the intended uses thereof that do not generally apply to the property or classes of uses in the same zo ne or district in which said property is located, and will not be in- consistent with the eeneral purposes of said Ordinance No. 439, and that said property should be excepted from the provisions of the zone created by said Ordinance No. 439 affectinb said property, but only so far as hereinafter set forth; and the requirements of said Ordinance No. 439, pertaining to the consent of adjacent property owners having be(n complied with; This Council, therefore, excepts from the provisions of the respective zone of Ordinance No. 439 of the City of Arcadia the property hereinafter described, but only insofar as such exoeption is necessary to permit the maintenance, and operation on the follow- ing described property, to-wit: The southerly 50 feet of Lot 9, Tract No. 6925, as shown on map recorded in Book 74, page 79 of Maps, Records of INlIIiWl ' C2rc/. 690 Los Angeles County, of a mop-head assembling business. This exception is granted upon the following conditions: (a) That no building permit be granted for the erection or ,construction of any of said buildings upon said properties unless the plans and specifications be first submitted to the Building Inspector of the City of Arcadia, and that said plans and specific- ations and said buildings shall in all particulars comply with the building ordinEillces and sanitary regulations of the City of Arcadia; (b) That such mop-head assembly business shall be commenced within sixty (60) days after the effective date of this Ordinance and all the riE;hts and privileges granted by this Ordinance are accepted by the persons affected thereby upon the express con- dition that this Ordinance granting the Privileges herein specified shall terminate, cease and have no further effect on and after February 20, 1950. (c) That not more than two sewing-machines shall be used or operated in the conduct of th~ aforesaid business and not more than four (4) employees shall be used or' employed at any time in said business. (d) That said properties shall not at any time be used for any purpose or purposes not allowed in Zone C-2 of the City of Arcadia, except as provided in this Ordinance;; (e) That in case any of the provisions of this Ordinance are violated, the properties above described shall revert to Zone C-2 as defined in Ordinance No. 439, and the rights and privilege herein granted shall cease and terminate in the event that any such violation be not terminated within thirty days or such further time as the City Council may decide that the owner or owners of said properties have been given written notice by -2- c/Ar.l 69'0 said City Council of such violation. SECTION 2. The City Clerk of said City shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune and ArtadiaNews, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of Arcadia and hereby desig- nated for that purpose, and thirty days from and after the passage thereof the same shall be in full force and effect.
